India, Enmity Toward England: Madar
Dhingra, the Indian student who shot and
killed Sir Curzon Wliey and Dr. Lalcaca
at an official reception 011 the night of
July 1, was arraigned recently and
held for murder. Dhingra in a long
statement in the police court said: "The
English have no right to occupy India.

ray motherland. I wish the English to
sentence me to death so that my countrymen's
revenge will be all the keener.
This statement will show the justice of
my cause to the outside world, particularly
to our sympathizers in America and
Germany."
Persia, Revolutionists Successful: It* is
reported from Teheran that the shah has
practically abdicated his throne and is
now under the protection of the Russian
embassy. Another sensational dispatch
was received to the effect that
the Nationalists bad fired upon the Russian
embassy, but this is unconfirmed.
Later dispatches bore the information
luui uosumies had ceased entirely pending
the negotiations which are going
fqrward. The insurgents continue in the
ascendancy and the final agreements win
be dictated by their commanders. The
shah of Persia has been dethroned and his
son succeeds him.
Greece: An Earthquake in the Southern
part of Greece has been quite 3erious.
The reports are that more than three
hundred people have been kiiled.
