in life she united with the Presbyterian
Church and ever after lived to adorn the
doctrines of Christ her Saviour. She was
an intelligent, devoted, generous-hearted
Christian. Her Bible and her religious
papers were her constant companions.
She wanted to know what was going 011
in God's Kingdom and loved to talk
about it. Her regularity in attendance
upon the services of the sanctuary was
marked. It was a real joy to her to worship
God in His house and to have, the
quiet prftyer in her home. There was
no plan of church work in which she
did not heartily co-operate. The great
benevolences of the church always appealed
to her Christian sympathy and received
her generous support. This was
her character and this the life she lived.
Truly we may say of her: "She hath
wrought a good work." But it was not
in good works that she trusted. She
trusted simply in Jesus?the atoning
blood?and did good deeds because she
loved Him. During her last illness she
often repeated the 23rd Psalm, dwelling
especially on the 4th verse: "Yea.

shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for
thou art with me; thy rod and thy stafT

terrors for her.
She leaves behind her in the home her
husband and a grand-daughter, Miss
Fannie Trent Dodd. In South Carolina is
a daughter, Mrs. J. L. Keitt. In Lexington,
Va., is a son, Mr. F. D. Coe. All
these were present and ministered tenderly
to her in her last illneBS. They
have a blessed heritage in the memory
of such a noble life.
"Her children rise up and call her
blessed; her husband also, and he praised
her."
