death with barbarous cruelties, in full
view of the Spanish soldiery. In the
Spanish camps there is a fearful lack of
drinking water, and the soldiers are dying
fast from drinking stagnant water.
Great Britain: The leading news from
England is that the Government is planning
to have all the available men of the
Empire, whether in England or Canada,
or in AfHca or Australia, organized in militia
companies so as to be readily available
in the event of war. Also to have
the navy contingent increased. Obviously
England is disturbed over the attitude
of Germany and is in fear nf war with
that country.
