REV. ALEXANDER B. CARRINGTON.
Of an old and well-known family, with

Virginia, Alexander Broadnax Carrington
waB born in 1833, in Charlotte
County, Va. He was educated at the
University of Virginia, and graduated
in Law at Washington College, Lexington,
in 1854. Early in his young manhood
he gave up the practice of law and
consecrated himself to the Christian
ministry. Completing the course at Union
Theological Seminary, he was in 1851
ordained to the ministry by Montgomery
Presbytery, and began his work in the
ministry in a mission in or about Abingdon.
From 18R1 to 1 Rfi.n ho wna In tho
Army of the Confederate States, first as
a private in the ranks, and then as a
chaplain. And when the war ended he
entered promptly upon his life work as
a minister. For sixteen years he was
the pastor of Hat Cheek Church in his
own county of Charlotte. For three
years he was the pastor of the church
at Berryville, in Clarke County. And this
was followed by thirteen years of service
in Greenwich, in Fauquier County,
where he built his home, and spent the
remainder of his years patiently waiting
for the end. Of the seventy-seven years
appointed to him, about one-half were
expended in preaching the Gospel, and
shepherding the flocks committed tn hta
care by the one Chief Shepherd whom
he followed. For many years he has
been withdrawn from the ministry by
impaired health, and bore his physical
weariness and infirmity with an unfailing
patience and submission to the will
of God. He was a Christian gentleman
of rarely handsome appearance and
courteous manner; as he was a loving
husband and father and steadfast -friend.
Mr. Carrington is survived by his wife,
Mrs. Sarah Lowell Carrington; his three
sons, Mr. A. B. Carrington, of Danville,
Va. Dr. Charles V. Carrington, of Richmond,
and Mr. Grattan Cabell Carrington,
of New York; and by his daughter,
Mrs. E. H. Vanrickler, of London County.

A WEAK WOMAN
AND HER STORY
In Floral, Ark., Lives a Lady Who
Feels That Her Strength Was
Restored by Cardui.
Floral, Ark.?"I must speak a good
word for Cardui," writes Mrs. Viola
Baker, of this place.
"About a month ago I was in very bad
health. I was so weak and nervous that
1 was not able to do my housework.
"My husband bought me one bottle of
Cardui, the woman's tonic. I took it according
to directions and now I am in
good health.
"I think Cardui is a fine tonic for weak
women."
And you are not the only lady who
thinks so, Mrs. Baker.
Thousands, like you, have written to
tell of the wonderful benefit Cardui has
been to them.
Cardui contains no minerals, or other
powerful drugs. It contains no glycerin
or other mawkish-tasting ingredients.
It is just a pure, natural extract, of
natural vegetable herbs, that have been
found to regulate the womanly functions
and strengthen the female system.
All druggists sell Cardui.
See yours about it.
