"Actinas" Iiave been sold; therefore the
Actina treatment is not an experiment,
but is reliable. The following letters are
but sampies of hundreds we receive:
J. J. Pope, Ballinger, Texas, writes:?
"1 have spent thousands of dollars on ray
eyes, consulted the best doctors in the
United States, dropped medicine in my
eyes for years and "Actina" is the only
thing that has ever done me any good.
Before using "Actina" 1 gave up all hope
of ever being able to read again. Had
not read a newspaper for seven years.
Now I can read all day with little or no
inconvenience."
Kathryn Bird, 11" Lincoln St., Milwaukee,
Wis., writes:?"1 was troubled
with astigmatism and had worn glasses
from ten years of age. 1 could not read
or write without them; in a surprisingly
short time, after using "Actina," 1 laid
aside my glasses and I will never use
them again."
E. K. Holbrook, Deputy County Clerk,
Fairfax, Va., writes:?"Actina has cured
my eyes so that I can do without glasses.
1 very seldom have headache now, and
can study up to eleven o'clock after a
hard day's work at the office."
"Actina" can be used by old and young
with perfect safety. Every member of
the family can use the one ''Actina" for
any form of disease of the Eye, Ear,
Throat or Head. One will last for years
and is always ready for use. "Actina"

Hints From a Farmer's Wife.
A tablespoon each of soda and coal
oil will remove the gummy substance
from galvanized ware. Wash the vessel
in hot suds after cleaning.
When there are just a few scraps
of fat to render out, put them in pans
and set in the oven. They will soon
be tried out, and no spattering on the
stove or disagreeable odor.
Don't run upstairs or down cellar
with each article; have a basket on
the step, and into this place the articles
as they are gathered up; then the first
one to go up or down can take all at
one trip. Make your head save your
heels.
Never leave brushes with bristles up.
If hair or clothes brushes, they accu
mulate extra dust; if scrub brushes
the dampness goes down and loosens
the fibers.
Don't take a straw from the brooin
to insert inta the cake or pudding to
see if it is done. Use a toothpick or
clean wood splinters, or a knitting needle,
first dipped in boiling water.
Keep the living room as free of dust
as possible, however the parlor may be.
Use a damp cloth with kerosene added.
Drop some carbolic acid on the hot
stove before the family retires for the
night. Disease germs don't like it.
Pine tar dropped on a hot shovel often
relieves coughs and sore throats.?Indiana
Farmer.
Ire Cream Hint.
How many housekeepers ever think
of utilizing melted ice cream? Instead
of throwing away the small left over
portions that remain in freezer or mold,
this melted cream should be incorporated
in cake, cookies, or some small
dessert. For the latter a little gelatin
should be added, varying of course,
with the result desired. Melted chocolate
ice cream into which chopped
Marshmallows have been stirred, and
a little melted gelatin added, makes a
delicious combination. Chopped fruits,
as bananas, figs, and dates, also gives
a pleasing variety. When using melted
ice cream for cake leave out the milk
called for in the recipe and use less
butter and sugar. Judgment must be
used in combining quantities as no general
rule can be given. The flavor of
the cake must be considered and the
ice cream flavor must harmonize with
it.
Quickest Salad Tliat Grows.
The quickest salad that grows and
the least used in this country is mustard
and cress. Sow curled garden
cress in long rows, four inches apart.
It matures in 21 days: As soon as it
breaks through tho g/ound sow the
same quantity of white mustard, and
the two will be ready at the same time.
They should be cut when about an inch
and a half high and used mixed in
equal parts. In England and on the
continent it is used extensively for
sandwiches, dinner salads, with lettuce
leaves, and far garnishing meats. The
round turnip radishes take only about
the same time to mature if sown in
rich ground, so it is easy to have a
home grown salad, If nothing else, the
first of July.?Harper's Bazar.
