ULD HAVE ANTITOXIN READY
FOB OUTBREAKS OF DIPHTHERIA.
lx>cal boards of health and practicing
physicians are warned by the Virginia
State Department of Health to keep an
ample stock of antitoxin on hand, to be
ready for outbreaks of diphtheria which
may be expected during the month.

........ c* uiuuiii, guy neann otlicers,
the annual outbreak of diphtheria in the
state will be at its maximum, and its
control will depend largely upon the
promptness with which antitoxin is applied.
If this remedy be neglected,
scores of lives will be lost which might
otherwise be saved and. in addition, new
centers of the disease will be estab
lished. Health authorities point out that
only where th? antitoxin is available for
use as soon as diagnosis can be made,
will it achieve the best results in the
teatment of diphtheria.
"The arrangements for the distribution
of antitoxin are as complete as we
can make them in the absence of any
State law providing for the free distribution
of th is remedy," said an officer
of the Health Department to-day. "Any
physician who needs this remedy can
secure it from Richmond by communlcat"
ing with the department. Rill will he
rendered by the manufacturer and the
remedy will be supplied at the lowest
possible rates, which are about onefourth
of those formerly charged by tho
retail trade. Every physician should
keep a stock of antitoxin within easv
reach, especially as it can he returned
at any time before the limit stnmned
on each package, and new antitoxin will

CARDU1 WORKED
LIKE_A CHARM
After Operation Failed to Help,
Cardui Worked Like a Charm.
Jonesville, S. C.?"I suffered with
womanly trouble," writes Mrs. J. S.
Kendrick, in a letter from this place,
"and at times, I could not hear to stand
on my feet. The doctor said I would
never be any better, and that I would
have to have an operation, or I would
have a cancer.
I went to the hospital, and they openated
on me, but I got no better. They
said medicines would do me no good,
and I thought I would have to die.
At last I tried Cardui, and began to
improve, so I continued using it. Now,
I am well, and can do my own work.
I don't feel any pains.
Cardui worked like a charm."
There must be merit in this purely
vegetable, tonic remedy, for women?
Cardui?for it has been in successful
use for more than 50 years, for the
treatment of womanly weakness and
disease.
Please try it, for your troubles.
