Atmutu: Last Monday evening, from
5 to 7 o'clock, the Evangelical Ministers'
Association of Atlanta held its monthly
meeting at Moore Memorial Presbyterian
church, at Luckie and Latimer
Streets.
After the business meeting of the association
was finished, the members of
Moore Memorial church invited the ministers
to unite with them in the anniversary
exercises, from 7 to 9 o'clock,
celebrating the twenty-second annlverii

An excellent program of short addresses
by representatives of the various
denominations of Christian
churches in Atlanta had been arranged
and when the literary feature of the entertainment

risking ministers and the church members,
as well as such visitors as had

name of our beioved old pastor, Dr. (J.
W. Lane. The chiidien of tbe birBt
church had a festival and Xmas tree,
instead of giving the gifts for toe
tree to each other, sent them over
to the Lane Chapel, and they were distributed
among tne children, as were
many other tnings furnished by the
teacners and ouicers of the cnapel. Our
pastor, Mr. E. L. Hill, and our assistant
pastor, Mr. J. D. McPhail, were present
and added to the pleasure of the evening.
After this they enjoyed the new
stereopticon retlectorscope, which their
superintendent, Mr. E. 1. Smith, and
secietary, Mr. M. Thomas, had with the
help of friends purchased for them.
They have a flourishing Sunday school,
between thirty and forty scholars. An
efficient superintendent and tine band of
teachers and officers. Mr. McPhall
preaches there twice every month.
KENTUCKY.

Louisville Seminary: The first issue
of a publication called "The Record."
comes to us from the Seminary. It contains
the Inaugural address of Professor
Cotton.
Sunday Schools: A Winter School of
Methods will be held in Louisville February
25-March 1, under the auspices of
the Kentucky Sunday School Association.
Among the active leaders and instructors
in the school will he Ors. A. P.
Robertson and W. J. McQlolhin, of the
Baptist Iheologlcal Seminary. Dr. MElfresh,
of the International Association,
and other well known Sunday
School workers and lecturers.
The Ifer. J. N. McL'ord, recently call
ed to the Home Mission work iu this
Presbytery, has signified his acceptance
of the call subject to the action of his
Presbytery. Mr. McCord visited the
Held during early January and charmed
the people of each community by his
agreeable personality and his splendid
preaching ability. He and bis lovely
wife, a daughter of the Rev. Dr. G. J.
Currle, of Hattlesburg. Miss., will receive
a royal welcome from the people
and will enter upon a splendid service
in one of the most needy, as well as
promising, fields in the entire church.
LOUISIANA.
New Orlenns: Rev. Mott Martin, of
our African mission, visited New Or
leans after the Chattanooga Convention,
and addressed the congregation of the
Lafayette church on Sunday morning.
New Orleans: Sunday, February 4,
was largely given to the visitors of the
International Sunday School Secretaries
and Executive Committeemen. Judge
Carthell. of Tennessee, spoke In the
First Street German and Carrollton
churches; Mr. Andrew Stevenson, of
Chicago, In the Second German church;
Mr. Thoa. C. Dlggs, of Virginia, In the
Third church; Dr. Phil lip a, of Virginia,

and Rev. Mr. Harris, of South America,
in the hirst church, and Dr. Phillips in
the Prytania Street church. A rally
of the Presbyterian Sunday school people
was held in the afternoon in the
hirst church. Ihe Intense cold of tne
day and evening prevented large congregations,
but mucn Interest was
shown and some hue addresses were
delivered.
?Rev. U. II. Currie: On Sunday evening,
hebruary 4, was formally installed
as pastor of tne Memorial cnurch. 'the
church was handsomely decorated and
every evidence was given of tne joy of
the congregation in once more having a
pastor. Despite the bitter cold of the
night a very large congregation was
present, and many representatives of
umer vuurcaeu 1a lae city were present.
The sermon, was preached by Rev. Dr.
W. McF. Alexander, who also presided
and propounded the coustitutloual questions.
The charge to the pastor was
delivered by Rev. Dr. George Summey,
who was for live years a teacher of the
pastor. The charge to the people was
given by Rev. Geo. D. Booth. The new
relation was formed under the happiest
auspices, and the church is full of hope
and encouragement. Mr. Currle has already
taken hold upon the work strongly
and has got the hearts of the people
very quickly.

MISSISSIPPI.
Brookbuveu: The Executive Committee
of the Synod's Committee of Home
Missions will renew its call to Rev.
R. L. Walfcup, to the secretaryship of
Home Missions, and it has good hope
of succeeding this time. The Presbytery
of Mississippi lately declined, by
a majority of only one, at called meeting,
to dissolve Mr. Walkup's pastoral
relation to the Brookhaven church.
MISSOURI.
Jackson x Dr. Q. W. Painter, of our
Hangchow Mission, who has been visit
Ing the churches of Missouri, spent
Sunday, February 4th, with this church,
to the great delight and benefit of our
people. Including his visits to the
schools. Dr. Painter delivered six addresses,
In each of which he set forth
a different phase of the present situation
in China. His long term of service
in the far East has been improved by
close observation, while bis versatile
style makes his lectures Interesting to
the popular addlence. It Is the uni- "
versa! sense of our people that we were
blessed in his visit to us.

extended a call to Rev. R. W. MInter,

of Hamlet, has been released from the
