students.
The recitals given by the students are
in progress. They illustrate the
thorough and artistic training of the
students in music and in expression.
The first recital was given March
25th by the piano pupils of Miss Scott,
assisted by the elocution pupils of Miss
Zurner.
The second was given April 1st by the
piano pupils of Miss Boardman, assisted
by piano pupils from the school of expression.
The third was given April 8th by
pupils in voice and in piano, who have
been taught by Miss Williams, and by
pupils in violin and piano who have
been taught by Miss 'Stulting.
The fourth recital will be on April
22nd. It will be the graduation exercises
in piano of Miss Lizzie Clement.
These all reflect great credit on the
College, showing how excellent Is the
instruction and training given in our
Music Department.
rne college annual "Auf Wiedersehen"
has Just arrived, and is ready for
distribution. It is very well gotten up,
and is a beautiful souvenir of the College

is one in excess of that of last year, this

year ago. There was some falling off

Commissioners to the General Assembly,
and Rev. J. G. MaFerrin and Ruling
Elder D. M. Coil were elected alternate
commissioners. Both Home and Foreign
Missions received earnest consideration,
and a special season of prayer was
held in behalf of Foreign Missions. The
Presbytery requested each of its
churches to make a special offering of
at least 35 cents per member for the
liquidation of our Foreign Mission debt,
and requested the Committee of Foreign
Missions to lay the matter before the
churches.
Rev. J. A. Thompson received per.
mission to labor out of the bounds of the
. resbytery till next meeting.
j;.n A. Wood made a report of his
labors with the Soul Winners.
A memorial service of Rev. W. H.
Smith was held at which interesting and
tender words were spoken by members
of Presbytery. The Presbyterial Sermon
on Religion in the Home was
preached by Dr. I. M. McConnell, and
Rev. G. B. Thompson was appointed to
preach at the next Presbytery on the
subject of Infant Baptism.
The Presbytery declined to give its
consent to the overtures of the Assembly
touching the Commission, and
making the Synod a co-ordinate court
in regular gradation.
Presbytery gave its consent, eleven to
seven, to the overture in regard to the
"Elect Infant," and also to the overture
in regard to unregenerate church memers.
