WONDERFUL PROPHESY OF ISAIAH
OF THE CHRISTIAN'S REFORMATION.
The Christian Era with the advent of
Christ Is plainly given In prophesy in
the 61st chapter of Isaiah, Informing
mankind that the ministers of the New
Testament would be ohosen from the
Gentile race. The second verse of the
62nd chapter foretold that God's children
would be called by a new name,
harmonizing with the name of Chris
tlans. The 63rd chapter foretold of a
preat throne arlBing with strange apparel,
assuming to speak words of righteousness,
as being mighty to save.
Prophesy shows that God would be displeased
with this false and misleading
kingship and leadership. Words followWoman's

lng this prophesy gave a representation
of the Dark Ages, wherein God's people
were described as being led into paths
of darkness, Idolatry and sin. No
change of suoh conditions were spoken
of till the words found In the ninth
verse of the 65th chapter. The papal
throne of Rome stands reproved and
censured in prophecy, pointing to historical
events of the Reformation, and
what means God would use to restore a
true and proper relationship 'between
his throne and his people.

AN Of THE SOUTH
turies of time, when the days of the Old
Testament, days of the twelve tribes had
passed away and a servant under Christ,
of the tribe of Judah, was to be a leader
of the Reformation.
The thirteenth verse of this chapter
gave a historical scene of the corrupt
throne of Rome and Its priesthood on
the one part and pointing to Martin
Luther as one of God's representatives,
standing as an Inheritor of God's kingdom
bringing divine message at Worms
In A. D. 1521 to mankind.
Verse 13: Therefore will I number
you to the sword, and ye shall bow
down to the slaughter, because when I
called, ye did not answer; when I spake,
ye did not hear, but did evil before
mine eyes, and did choose that wherein
I delighted not.
The theologians of the Roman power

??? nvmn nolo appealed
to give proof from the Bible In
Luther's defense of the same, to show
wherein he had done wrong, and he
would recant, but they gave no answer.
The changes of God's servants from
the days of the Reformation were outlined
by Isaiah in God's own words, saying
verse 13: Therefore thus sadth the
Lord God, Behold my servants shall eat.
but ye shall be hungry: behold, my servants
shall drink, but ye shall be
thirsty: behold my servants shall rejoice,
but ye shall be ashamed.
14. Behold my servants shall sing for
joy of heart, but ye shall cry for sorrow
of heart, and shall howl tor vexation of
spirit
The words of the prophet prove that
all those embracing the words of the
Gospel of OhTlst were to have the care
and protection of heaven Itself. These
were to rejoice In their faith and plan
of salvation, but the servants of the
Roman power are spoken of as being
ashamed.
15. And ye shall leave your name
for a curse unto my chosen: for the
Lord God shall slay thee, and call his
servants by another name.
16. And he who 'blesseth himself 1n
the earth, shall bless himself in the God
of truth, and he that sweareth In the
earth, shall swear by the God of truth,'
because the former troubles are forgotten,
and because they are hid from
mine eyes.
Students of the Bible were to realize
that all the servants under the papal
throne of Rome stood under condemnation
before God. The faithful were to
be called by another name. Iln the
year A. D. 1529. only eight years after
Martin Luther had appeared at the Diet
of Worm8, the Reformers were called
Protestants. A brother of Charles V.,
the emperor of the Roman empire by
the name of "Ferdinand of Austria, acted
as President at the Diet of Spires. An
edict was formulated in that city In
1529 that Reformers should not teach
any new reform, should not oppose the
celebration of the Mass, permit no
Roman Catholic to embrace the doctrines
of "Luther; they should not decline
episcopal Jurisdiction.
Reformers rejected these strange
commands, saying to have regard above
all, to the command'ments of God, as
King of kings and Lord of lords; that
they should not deny their Lord Jesus
Christ and reject his holy Word, and
thus deny H*m before God's throne.
It 'was at this time that they were
called Protestants, because thev protested
aealnst these edicts of the Roman
Catholic Church.
The Reformers were seeking the favor
of God's blessing through God's divine
law. or as prophecy said, in 'he God of
truth, as given lo.the sixteenth verse.
17. For behold, I create new heaven*,
and a new earth: and the former shall
not be remembered, nor come Info mind.
18. But be ye glad and rejoice for
ever In that which I create; for behold I
(1001) ' 19
create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her
people a Joy,
No day of Judgment, or last day is
represented In these verses, but a new
period between God and his people is
herein Illustrated. The gathering together
of God's children in their places
of worship shall be a Joy unto themselves
from this t'me on.
19. And I will rejoice In Jerusalem,
and Joy In my people: and the voice of
weeping shall 'be no more heard In
her, nor the voice of crying.
20. There shall 'be no more thence an
Infant of days, nor an old man that hath
not filled his days: for the child shall
die an hundred years old, but the sinner.
being an hundred years old shall
be accursed.
The conclusion to 'be drawn from this
verse indicates that the human faimilv
shall from this time on have the opportunity
to serve God in spirit and In
truth and live under their own vine
ana ng tree; nor relapse Into such a
state of darkness and superstition any
more, hut persons remaining under the
false and misleading doctrines, shall be
accursed.
21. And they shall build houses, and
lnhafblt them; and they shall plant vineyards
and eat the fruit of them.
22. They shall not build, and another
inhabit; they shall not plant, and another
eat: for as the days of a tree are
the days of my people, and mine elect
shall long enjoy the work of their
hands.
23. They shall not labour in vain, nor
bring forth n trouble; for they are
the seed of the "blessed of the Lord,
and their offspring with them.
The days of true, faithful, consecrated
Christians living in harmony with the
teachings of the New Testament, called
by a new nanne, corresponding with the
name of Protestants in history, are described
in Isaiah's prophecy as being
the seed of the blessed of the Lord,
whose property and possessions no

An ambitious but delicate girl, after

"This wretched condition continued
until I was twenty-five, when I became
interested in the letters of those who
had cases like mine and who were getting
well by eating Grape-Nuts.
"I had but little faith but procured a
box and after the first dish I experienced
a peculiar satisfied feeling that I had
never gained from any ordinary food.
I slept and rested better that night and
in a few days began to grow stronger.
"I had a new feeling of peace and
