resignation as pastor of the Mulberry
church, and the church was cited to appear,
by its commissioners, at an ad
journed meeting to ,be held in the Seminary
building Monday, January 13,

resignation in view of the fact that he
desired to accept a call to the church

visit to his father, in Birmingham, Ala.,
during the holidays, his pulpit was supplied

?On Sunday, December 29, the congregation
of tbe First church met and
issued a call to Rev. F. W. Thompson,
of Hot Springs, Ark., to "become assistant
pastor of the church. Tbe call
was unanimous, and It is hoped that
Mr. Thompson will accept it at a very
early jay and come to the assistance of
Dr. Cornelson.
Houma: The Houma church Is rejoicing
in having its pastor. Rev. Nelson
Blackburn, home again from his
vacation of a month, spent with his
mother and sisters in Georgia and Alabama.

Meridian: Be it Resolved by the
elders and deacons of the First Presbyterian
churoh, of Meridian, as follows,
to wit:
1st. That we sincerely regret the
severance of the ties existing between
us, as church officers, and Rev. Dr. J. E.
Jones as pastor of the First Presbyterian
church of 'Meridian, Mississippi.
2nd. That we have ever found in him
a faithful and loyal follower of Christ
and a devoted pastor to his people.
3rd. That we believe he has preached
the gospel in its sincerity and truth in
the fear of God and love to man; and,
best of all, bhat he has lived that gospel
before his people.
4th. That we wish for him and his
Tamily in their new field of labors the
greatest prosperity and happiness that
can come to them.
5th. That we commend Dr. Jones
and his family to the church and congregation
and community to which they
are now removing, and congratulate
them upon their acquisition as citizens.
6th. That we heiieve that the work
of Dr. Jones as pastor of the hirst Presbyterian
church, of Meridian, Mississippi,
and his godiy walk and conversation
as a Christian in our community,
during tue approximately twenty years
ne has been among us, nas been of great
good to one people he has served as
pastor and U> me community at large;

endure.

Maiden, Synod of Missouri: Frank
L. Delaney, pastor. As we approach
the 'New Year this church continues to
bhow signs of growth and continued
usefulness in the community. On December
22d, without any special evangelistic
services -whatever, there were
eight additions to the church. Seven
were received on confession of their
faith in Christ and one by certificate
from the M. E. Church, South. The
pastor administered baptism to all who
were received on confession. It should

the Sunday school, and as a result of

we heartily recommend suah movements
