The death of the Rev. Henry Barrington
Pratt at Hackensack, N. J., December
11, 1912, removes from earth to
heaven another master translator. The
distinguished maker of the Version
Moderna In tke Spanish language made
the whole Spanish world his debtor.
His name and flame t.s a translator
make the details of his life a matter
of general Interest.
"He was bom near Darlen, Ga, In 1832,
gradunted from Oglethorpe University.
Georgln, In 1851, and Princeton Theological
Semlrary, New Jersey, In 1855.
He was licensed to preach In 1854 by
the Presbytery of New Brunswick, and
ordained bv the Presbytery of Cherokee

The mere recital of these facts wll
suggest the massive strength and nc
