Theological Seminary in Virginia, the i
suin of thirty thousand dollars for the
purpoae of establishing a perpetual lectureship
which "would enable the Institution
to secure from time to time the i
services of distinguished ministers and
authoritative scholars outside the regular
faculty as special lecturers on subjects
connected with various departments
of Christian thought and Chri- i
tian work. The lecturers are chosen
1b the Presbyterian church at Lexlng- (
ton, Va., at 10 A. M., February 3, 1913,
to transact the following business, if

1. To dissolve the pastoral relation ,
of Rev. R. L. Klnnaird and Timber
Ridge church.
2. To dismiss him to the Presbytery
of Ebenczer, Synod of Kentucky (Southern).
3. Any business growing out of th<;
above.

Presbytery to dissolve the pastoral relation.
Mr. Kinnaird has been pastor at
Ttmiher Ridge three years. He has
agreed to accept a call to the church at
Catlettsburg, Ky., and made known his
purpose to his congregation. A meeting
was called after the Sunday morning
service, over which JSlder George W.
Womeldorf presided, and the members,
recognizing that a severance of the relations
was unavoidable, on a resolution

Mr. Kinnalrd expects to leave for Kentuck

Union: Two valuable members were
received into this church last Sunday?

that was published hy our Executive
Committee on Ministerial Relief. The

of the institution.
The lirst series of lectures on this
foundation will be delivered by Rev.
David James Bwrrell, D. D., pastor of
the Marble Collegiate church of New
York city, beginning next week, February
Cth, at eight o'clock P. "M. The
lectures will be eight in number, given
at the same hour every evening, Sunday
oxcepted, till February 14th. The subject
is "The Sermon, Its Construction
offering for the Assembly's Home and
School amounted to $20.00.
The pastor was kindly remembered
during tne Christmas season by friends
both In and out of the church, for which
he was very grateful. Pastor.
Montgomery: The membership of
the Montgomery church remembered
their pastor and his family in a very
generous fashion during the Christmas
holidays. A large variety of gifts were
sent in, one being a handsome rocker
for the parlor, a present from a young
furniture merchant whom the pasttor
had recently received into the church
upon profession.
The right royal turkey that graces
the Christmas table was a donation
from one of the elders.
The other articles are too numerous

The Winchester Presbyterlal Conference
on Evangelism and Stewardship
was 'held In Martlnsburg, W. Va., January
21, 22. Prof. JaB. Lewis Howe, of
Washington and Lee University, was
present as leader and executed the difficult
duties of this office most admirablv
Strong addressee were made <by the
Rev. Enrmett "W. AfoCorkle, D. D.t and
the Rev. D. Clay Lilly, D. D. T>r. 'McCokle
spoke on "The Return of the
Apostolic Basis of Evangelism," and
Dr. Lilly on "Consecrated Possessions."
The attendance at all the sessions was
large and a deep spirit of Interest was
evident Of the 49 ohurches In the
Presbytery, 30 were represented In the
Conference. 130 delegates being present

The fame of the lecturer and his
own extraordinary success as a preacher
will naturally attract a considerable
body of persons outside of the Seminary
to enjoy the lectures along with
the students, for whose benefit they
are primarily designed. The lectures
will be given in the Seminary chapel
and are open to the public. Ministers
of all denominations are specially invited
to attend.

of the Alliance of the Reformed
Churches throughout the World, holding
the Presbyterian system and, as

Alliance in Aberdeen next June.

the Seminary chapel on Sunday morning,
