follow Him so that they may be led

must not be conceited (vs. 41, 42).
They must bear fruit In their lives
nnd in their work (vs. 43-45).
Hearing or Doing.
He who hears Jesus and obeys His
teaching builds his house upon the
rock, and it stands against all the
storms which Satan brings upon it.
He who hears and fails to obey is
building upon sand. Satan will see
to It that his house shall fall.
Let us remember and try to appre
ciate what a great privilege it is to
have an infallible Teacher, and let us
try to learn His lessons and put them
into practice.

The (Sunday school observed Rally
Day in October with the largest at
tendance in the history of the church
The program was well rendered, each
department taking its own part. A
generous offering was made for Sun
day School Extension. The church
was beautifully decorated with palms
and cut flowers. The address by the
pastor. Dr. C. 8. Newman, was most
appropriate, emphasizing the need of
Bible study and religion in the home.
Five babies had been baptized during
the quarter, and several added to ths
Cradle Roll. Promotions were gen
era!, and an entire new class formed.
A large number of certificates and
Testaments was given for reciting the
Catechism. The interest and attend
ance has been unusually well sus
tained during the entire summer. Tho
school is entering on a contest em
bracing attendance, Increase In mem
bership and learning of Catechism to
be continued until the new church
building is ready for occupancy.
UNIONTOWN, ALiA.
Rully Day in October drew a large
and appreciative audience. The exer
cises were held in the auditorium of
the church and the Assembly's pro
gram was rendered In detail. A large
number of children were given certifi
cates of promotion. Two children,
Bettie Morgan White and George Un
derwood, were given certificates foi
reciting the Child's Catechism, and
two boys, John Morgan White and
Robert W. Benn, were given certifi
cates for reciting the Shorter Cate
chism. The offering was about $70.
One member of the school united with
the church and four others will do so
soon. The pastor, Rev. R. L. Benn,
made an address on giving the Bible
to those who need it most, which was
cordially received by the audience.
The Men's Bible Class, which is grow
ing in interest and numbers, had their
photograph made.
STAUNTON, VA.
Rally Day at Second church, Octo
ber 8th, was a joyful occasion.
Go ye, therefore, and teach the Bible
to all nations, was emphasized by all
departments of the school, beginning
with the tiny tot, through youth and
old age.
Colonel T. O. Russell delivered a
splendid address to the men's Bible
classes.
Our Sabbath School Orchestra ac
companied the hymns by the children,
young ladles and male quartet.
The salute to the Christian flag and
the United States flag was quite novel.
Following Is the salute to tho Chris
tian flag: "I pledge allegiance to Yny
flag, and to my Saviour (or Whose
kingdom it stands. One brotherhood
uniting all mankind In service -and
love." Hymn following, "St Jp,
Stand Up for Jesus."

Our goal, 400 present, collection
$100.
There were present 381, collection
$151.43, which was an Increase over
last year In attendance 47, In collec
tion $7.18.
jTbe seed sown in our Bible school
is bearing fruit, as eleven of our
young people are now in training for
the ministry or mission fields, and
another has entered Home Mission
work.
