GRANITE CHURCH, RICHMOND, VA. I
The Junior and Senior Christian
Endeavor Societies of this church have |
recently sent to the Foreign Missions
Committee at Nashville a check for
$70 to pay the salaries for a year
of two native evangelists in our mis
sion field in Africa. These two so
cieties have a combined membership
of only 35, as the church is a small
one, but it is doing good work in
many ways under the efficient leader
ship of Miss Jennie Weisiger, who
is president of both societies.
GREENVILLE, MISS., DISTRICT C.
E. CONVENTION.
The Greenville District Christian '
Endeavor Convention met in the Pied
mont Presbyterian Church. This was
unquestionably the largest and best I
convention this district has yet held, |
and much of the credit goes to local 1
C. E. Societies. These societies, as
sisted by the Woman's Auxiliary of the
church, provided splendid entertain
ment and enjoyment to the seventy
three registered delegates. On Satur
day night the Auxiliary, under the
leadership of its able president,'
Mrs. W. A. McCall, Ruve the con
vention a banquet and informal
reception. On Sunday this organiza
tion spread an old-fashioned picnic
dinner in the church yard, which was
thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.
Rev. J. Blanton Belk, pastor of the
Piedmont Church, made a brief ad
dress of welcome. The convention was
called to order by the president, Mr.
Reid Patrick, of Greenville. In ad
dition to the regular routine and
open conferences, the convention heard
the following forceful speakers: Rev.
J. N. McCord, Rev. I. E. Wallace, Rev.
E. P. Davis, D. D., Rev. J. K. Roberts,
and Mr. Wilkes Dendy. On Sunday
morning the convention sermon was
preached by Rev. Melton Clark, D.
D., from the text, "The glory of young
men is their strength." Proverbs
20:29.
The Convention closed Sunday af
ternoon with a Model Junior C. E. So
ciety demonstration by the Juniors of
the First Presbyterian Church of An
derson, and an address by Rev. P. S.
McChesney, who conducted the conse
cration service.
The delegates and visitors expressed
their delight at their visit to Pied
mont. Two members of the local C. j
E. Senior Society were elected to dis- I
trict offices, namely: Miss Marseille
Duncan, vice-president, and Mrs. J. B.
Belk, superintendent of the Quiet
Hour.
By invitation of the pastor, Dr. Mel
ton Clark filled the pulpit here Sun
day night, preaching a strong ser
mon from the text, "The Word was
made flesh and dwelt among us."

If the Reader
of this ad has never made a Will, and
is a sensible man, we would like to ask him these
serious questions:
Why do you put off so important a matter?
What do you gain?
Think of the risk you run!
Have you contemplated the confusion it would
occasion if you were to die suddenly?
Of course, every man expects to make a Will
after awhile, but the thing we would impress is,
What in the world is the use of putting it off?
