MASSANETTA SPRINGS SUMMER
BIBJiK CONFERENCE, SYNOD
OF VIRGINIA.
The Massanetta Spring's property
located in the famous Valley of Vir
fully adapted to conference purposes,
of about fifty acres of land, upon
which is located a large modern hotel
and a famous health-giving spring,
has been turned over to the Synod of
Virginia by Hampden-Sidney College.
The donor of the property is Mr. J.
R. Lupton, Harrisonburg, Va.
The Synod has appointed a Board
of Trustees, which is instructed to
conduct a Summer Bible Conference
Encampment and t? develop the prop
erty for any other uses, religious and
educational, that the board may deem
wise.
The tentative conference dates for
the summer of 1923 are as follows:
Young People's Conference ? July
13-22.
Sunday-school Conference ? July
24-30.
Woman's School of Missions ? Au
gust 1-7.
Men's Conference ? August 9-15.
Bible Conference ? August 17-26.
The Executive Committee, consist
ing of Dr. H. W. Mclaughlin, Dr. B.
F. Wilson, Dr. C. D. Gilkeson, Dr. Wm.
E. Hudson, Rev. S. B. Hannah, and
Mr. Campbell Pancake, has recently
gone over the ground and ordered a
number of improvements which will
make the property, already beauti
fully adopted to conference purposes,
still more attractive. The program
for next summer is being projected on
a higher plane even than last sum
mer. An outstanding man is being
sought for each of the conferences.
A special effort is being made to se
cure the attendance of a large ma
jority of the ministers of the Synod
at the Bible Conference this year. It
is earnestly hoped that many of the
churches will send their ministers to
this conference at their own expense.
The Synod of Virginia has been in
vited to meet the week immediately
following this Bible Conference, so
that any minister who chooses to at
tend should remember that his ex
penses to Mas8anetta Springs and re
turn would be paid by the Synod, pro
vided it meets at Massanetta at that
time.
A large number of churches have
spoken for lots on the Massanetta
Springs ground with a view to erect
ing cottages to take care of their del
egates. The lots will be leased at a
very small sum per year. The man
agement suggests that those interested
in erecting buildings make plans and
secure space at the earliest possible
moment. Information may be secured
by writing to Wm. B. Hutson, Staun
ton, Virginia.
