FIRM QIAtITKH RF.VFIW—SEVEN OLD TEST A
- RUGOUS.
Author's Note.— The return from the captiv
ity and the rebuilding of the temple were events
just prior to the last predictions of the Old Tes
tament. Having, therefore, come wUI-nigh to
the interval between the Old and New Testa

will take us briefly bat connectedly over our Old
Testament studies for the past six years. The
dates used arc such as are commonly received.
Golden Text.— “Ho expounded unto them
in all the Scriptures the things concerning lrim
eelf.”—Luke 24:27.

HtLl* FOR I'llK BEST II DTK SIMM V-SCHOOI>\
I desire most earnestly to call at
tention to the following letter from
Bro. King, and sincerely trust that
there will be many responses to the ap
peal made by him. I have several
times made the same appeal, publicly
and privately, and have been pained
that so little has been done. I can use
a great many papers and books in the
way indicated. I have just received
two appeals for books and papers—
one from a sister who has just organ
ized a school of thirty-four members ;
another from a brother, in feeble health,
who walks live miles every Sunday uf
ternoon to meet a school where the
people are too poor to buy the necessa
ry books and papers. Brethren. I
have no funds to meet these eases,
what shall ldo? What will you do?
I always try to send something, but
the demands are greater than I can
supply. One good young brother, J.
M. Brown, of Atlanta, called on me a
few days ago and handed me $5 00 to
supply a school in North Georgia.
Bro. A. J. King not only attends
the school iu Ihomaston but spends
every Sabbath afternoon in superin
tending and teaching country schools,
and has supplied one school with pa
peis from his own pocket, lie is a
member of the Sunday-school Commit
tee of the liehoboth Association and is
trying hard to work up his district.
I will take pleasure iu acknowledg
THE CHRISTIAN INDEX AND SOUTH-WESTERN BAPTIST - June 20.
ing any contributions of books, papers
or money for the objects specified.
T. C. Boykin,
Sunday-school Evangelist.
Thgmahtos, Ga., May 28, 1878.
Rev. T. C. Boykin, Atlanta. —
Dear Pro. Boykin: —I have noticed
calls fiom yourself and others, for
books and papers to supply Sabbath
schools that were unable to buy them.
If you can impress upon the Superin
tendents of the schools in Atlanta,
Macon, Augusta, Savannah, and other
places, the great importance of supply
ing these calls, I think 1 can suggest a
plan by which all can be furnished,
and I will do so by giving you the re -
suit of an experiment, viz: In April,
1871, at my request, the school in
Thomaston turned over to me the
Sunday-School Times Quarterly, for
the first quarter of that year, and
which it had just finished. I took
them to Fellowship and organized a
school, and commenced with these
same quarterlies just three months be
hind the school in Thomaston, and
continued so until October, when the
Fellowship school went into winter
quarters, there being no stove or other
means of warming the church. When
we closed we had just gone through
with the lessons of the first and second
quarters. The Quarterlies for the
third and fouith quarters were also 1
turned over to me, and the first of
April this year we commenced in the
Quarterly lor the third quarter of last
year, and are now running six months
behind the Thomaston school. On
the first of April, of this year, I got tire
same school (Thomaston) to give me
their Quarterlies for the first quarter
of this year, (and which they had just
finished), and I took them to Shiloh,
another weak church, and the school
there is now using them and runing
three months behind the Thomaston
school. So you see the Thomaston
school, by saving its papers or Quar
terlies is supplying two other schools
besides itself with lesson papers.
Now, if the Superintendents of other
places will take the trouble (as the Su
perintendent in Thomaston has done)
to gather in their old papers every
Sunday, or those that are using Quar
terlies at the end of each quarter, and
select some school in the country to
send them to, and send them at the
end of each month or quarter, I think
all destitute schools could and would
be supplied. As the schools referred
to in the country are larger than the
one in Thomaston, they havn’t quite
enough of the Quarterlies. If you
know of any school that is using them
and will get it to send them to me
each quarter, as it finishes them, I will
be much obliged, and will see that
they are put to good use.
May the Lord bless you, my brother,
and when you are called from earth to
Heaven, may you find your crown be
decked with many stars as the result
of your labors in the great work in
which you are engaged.
A. J. King.

MEDICAL.
I AM ONE WHO WAS CURED
OF
CONSUMPTION.
Lawrenceburg, Anderson Cos., Ky.
Feb. 10, 1873.
Messrs. Craddock dt Cos.:
Gentlemen :—Please send me twelve
bottles of Cannabis Indica, one each of
Pills and O'ntment, for a friend of mine
who is not expected to live; and as your
medicines cured me of CONSUMPTION,
some three years ago, I want him to try
them. I gained fifteen pounds while tak
ing the first three bottles, and I know it is
just the thing for him. Respectfully,
_____ J. V. HULL.
Dr. 11. James’ CANNABIS INDICA, or
East India Hemp, raised in Calcutta, and
prepared on its native soil from the green
leaf, has b.-coine as famous in this country
as in India for the cure of Consumption,
Bronchitis, and Asthma.
We now inform the public that we have
made the importation of this article into
the United States our Specialty, and that
in future the afflicted can obtain these
remedies at a’i first-class druggists. As
we have, at great expense and trouble,
made permanent arrangements in India
for obtaining ‘- Pure Hemp,** gathering it
at the right season, and having itextracted
upon its own soil from the green leaf
by an old and experienced chemist (said
chemist being a native), we know that we
have the genuine article,
IN ALL ITS PURITY ftND PERFECTION,
and feel that we are entitled to credence
when we say that Cannabis Indica will do
all that is claimed for it, and that one
bottle will satisfy the most skeptical of
its positively and permanently curing
Consumption, Bronchitis, and Asthma.
Instead of devoting a column to the
meritsof this strange and wonderful plant,
we remain silent and let it speak for itself
through other lips than ours, believing
that those who have suffered most can
better tell the story, as the following ex
tracts from letters verbatim will show:
Gayoso, Pemiscot, Mo., Nov. iS, 1877.
Messrs. Craddock iC- Cos.:
Gentlemen :—I must have more of
your invaluable medicine, and wish that
you would place it here on sale, as the
cost of delivery is too high to individual's.
Previous lo using the Cannabis IndicaT, I
had used ail tho medicines usually pre
scribed in my son’s case I CONSUMPTION I
I had also consulted the most eminent
physicians in the country, and all to no
purpose; hut just as soon as he com
menced using the Hemp Remedies lie
