A NEEDY BROTHER.
Baptibt Cht;rch of Christ at Hexdrt's,
" Hart Cos., Ga., May 11, 1878.
At a previous meeting of the con •
ference of this church, a committee was
appointed to visit Rev. W. L. Fore, he
having been afflicted for a long time,
and also being reduced pecuniarily, who
made the following report, to-wit:
We, the undersigned, a committee
appointed from Hendry's church to
visit brother W. L. Fore, beg to report
that we find him suffering from disease,
with which he has been afflicted a long
time, and also destitute of provisions
and clothing, with the exception of corn
for bread. In our opiniou tie must re
ceive further help, and any contribu
tion from any brother or friend, neces
sary for himself and family, will be
thankfully received.

May 11, 1878.
Which report was received, and the
following resolutions were offered :
Whereas, The Rev. W. L. Fore has
been a resident of this community for
the past two years, he having come
here from Spring Place, Georgia, for
the purpose of seeking a more southern
climate for the improvement of his
health, he having been afflicted a long
time with a severe pulmonary affection.
As soon as he came here he joined our
church, and as far as his diseased state
would allow him, he worked amongst
us with all his might, and sowed seeds
in our midst that of themselves entitle
him to our earnest gratitude, until the
encroachments of disease prevented
him from further labor. And whereas,
we have done all in our power to relieve
his afflictions, still, our church not be
ing very large, the entire care of him
self and family has been a charge and
we are afraid, by our own exertions, we
cannot perform our full duty in the
matter, and feel it our duty to make
known his wants.
Resolved, That Hendry’s church and
every member thereof will, in a kind,
affectionate and Christian manner do
all they can with sister churches, as
as well as with all their friends kindly
disposed over the whole State of
Georgia, to come to their assistance in
furnishing food and raiment, and neces
saries for the plentiful support of this
afflicted brother and miuister of the
Gospel and family, and that the chuich
clerk be instructed to publish these
resolutions, and also in that publica
tion state how brother Fore can be
reached by contributions from any one
charitably and religiously inclined.
The above resolutions were unanimous
ly adopted.
L. W. Stephens, Moderator.
W. M. Clark, Church Clerk.
Any one wishing to contribute to the
Rev. Mr. Fore, can do so by registered
letter to Hart*ell, Georgia, or by ex
press to Toecoa City, Georgia.
W. M. Clark, Church Clerk.

Hartwell. Ga., May 22, 1878.
To the Editors of the Christian Index:
At the last meeting ot our church at
Hendry’s, there were resolutions adopt
ed asking help for Rev. VV. L. Fore, and
which have been sent you, about whom
I desire to make a short statement.
Brother Fore came to this county
nearly two years ago with his family,
an entire stranger, and he at once went
to work in our midst as a minister of
the Gospel. He was soon thereafter
taken down with disease, so that he
was unable to provide anything for
himself and family. We took his case
in hand at once and built him a house
on my laud, and soon got him comfort
ably situated, so far as a home and
resting place were concerned. Brother
Fore is a remarkal 1: man, and.is one of
the great ui“n of our county, although
living in obscurity as an humble indi
vidual, but all who have ever seen him
or conversed with him, or heard him
preach, have gone away impressed and
doubly impressed in their minds that
he is indeed a father in Israel, and a
true man in the cause of Christ.
The quiet fortitude in which he has
borne affliction has been the subject
of comment by all our people. He has
never been heard to murmur or com
plain, under the most excruciating pain
and suffering of himself and family.
He has been a minister of the Gospel
for a number of years; he is about 40
years of age, and, brethren of the
church, it is our duty to take care of
him—not only to keep him alive but
to provide for him well enough to give
him and family plenty for the rest of
their days ; and I earnestly entreat all
that may be so kindly disposed to help
us to do so at once, as this is a true
case of charity.
John G. McCcket,
Member Hendry's Church, Hart County, Ga.

MISCELLANEOUS.

In view of a general reduction having
been made in the various branches of
business, as well as in the cost of liv
ing and in the price of labor of almost
every conceivable enterprise, we have
concluded to make public a corres
ponding reduction, from former prices,
in the following operations in our own
business:
GOLD FILLINGS, that have here
tofore been made at $5.00, will be re
duced to $250; those formerly $3.00,
to $1.50, and those at $2.00, to ONE
DOLLAR. We can say that fully
eight out of ten of all fillings made,
CAN BE DONE OF GOLD for this
amount the work being as good
in all respects as if we received five
dollars per filling; thus you see these
teeth may be saved for the amount or
dinarily charged for extracting them.
We are now making sets of teeth,
using the best makes of artificial teeth,
for from $5 to $lO.
We have recently perfected a plate
material which we think is far supe
rior to anything that has yet been
given to the public, and which, when
used, will be found the great want sup
plied.
We REFIT poorly constructed and
badly fitting sets of teeth, so that they
are comfortable and serviceable, for a
very small amount.
Such persons as may doubt that
really good operations can be done at
the figures we state, (and there are
parties who, hoping to receive twice or
three times our charges for the same
work, will help them to doubt) we par
ticularly ask to give us a trial. We
have some reputation as a Dentist, and
have made it by doing good work at as
low figures as is consistent with thor
oughness.
Among our patrons we have such men
and their families as Mr. Sam’l Inman,
Maj. Campbell Wallace, Prof. William
Henry Peck, Dr. J. M. Johnson, Hon.
B. H. Hill, Dr. A. W. Calhoun, Rev. J.
H. Martin, and hosts of others to whom
we can refer.
Persons not living in the city, de
siring to avail themselves of our ser
vices, should write us and make en
gagements some days before coming,
or immediately upon arriving here,
otherwise they may be disappointed,
as we work almost altogether by ap
pointment-
Having office and residence connect
ed one with the other, we can offer the
comforts and security of home to those
visiting or employing us.
