PREVENT
YELLOW FEVER
It has been well proved that prevention
is better than cure. A very simple and
effective preventive for Yellow Fever
and other fevers has been found in Ben
son’s Capcine Porous Plasters. They were
used during the last season in New Or
leans very successfully, the common
method of using them was to apply them
over the stomach, changing them every
week. They are one of the most active
antiseptics and seem to destroy the poison.
One reason why they are of special value
is that they stimulate the digestion and
thus enable the system to overcome the
influence of the malarial poison. They are
a cheap and almost certain nreventive.
Ask your physician about them. Benson’s
Capcine Plasters are a sure preventive
and cure for chills and fever if worn as
above. Price 2f>c. sep4 Im

Is a compound of the virtues of sarsaparilla,
stillingia, mandrake, yellow dock, with the
iodide of potash and iron, all powerful blood
making, blood-cleansing, and life-sustaining
elements. It Is the purest, safest, and in
every way thp most effectual alterative medi
cine known or available to the public. The
sciences of medicine and chemistry have
never produced so valuable a remedy, nor
one so potent to cure all diseases resulting
from impure Wood. It cures Scrofula, ami
all scrofulous diseases, Erysipelas, Rose,
or St. Anthony’s Fire, Pimples and
Face-grubs, Pustules, Blotches, Bolls,
Tumors, Tetter, Humors, Salt Rheum,
Scald-head, Ringworm, Ulcers, Sores,
Rheumatism, Mercurial Disease, Neu
ralgia, Female Weaknesses and Irregu
larities, Jaundice, Affections of the
Diver, Dyspepsia, Emaciation, and
General Debility.
By its searching and cleansing qualities
it purges out the foul corruptions which
contaminate the blood, and cause derange
ment and decay. It stimulates and enlivens
the vital functions. It promotes energy and
strength. It restores and preserves.health.
It infuses new life and vigor throughout the
whole system. No sufferer from any disease
which arises from impurity of the blood need
despair, who will give Avek’s Sarsaparilla
a lair trial. Remember, the earlier the
trial, the speedier the cure.
Its recipe has been furnished to physicians
everywhere; and they, recognizing its supe
rior qualities, administer it in their practice.
For nearly forty years Ayer’s Sarsapa
rilla has been widely used, and it now pos
sesses the confidence of millions of people
who have experienced benefits from it# mar
vellous curative virtues.

TRADE MARK.
Inflammation of the Kidneys and Bladder.— Case of N. C. Barnett, Secre
tary of the State of Georgia.
Atlanta. May 20, 1879.
Col. Thomas F. Goode— ./ear Sir : After having been long a great sufferer from inflam
mation of the Kidneys and Bladder, which wa> gradually prostrating my strength and un
dermining my constitution, by the advice of Pr. R. S. Jackson of this city I determined
upon a trial of the Buffalo Litbia Waters. In a few days after commencing the use of it,
the good effects were unmistakable in the gradual cessation of ail my distiessing symptoms,
and I cheerfully bear testimony to its wonderful curative properties in diseases of this
character. Respectfully.. N. C. Barnett, Secretary of State.
Stone— Case of Mr. Wolffe, of Point Coupee Parish, Louisiana.
Point Coupee Parish, La., April 2, 1878.
Mb. Thomas F. Goode, Proprietor Buffalo Litbia Springs, Va.:
Two years ago I began to suffer with a severe and constant pain in my kidneys, which
was followed by violent attacks, averaging about two a week, causing excruciating agony,
from which I was frequently relieved by the discharge of stone of,from four to six grains in
weight; at other times, by the passage of smaller stone; and sonietimes by sand in consid
erable quantities. I sought, but in vain, thff best medical assistance, and as the result of
this state of tilings, I was reduced to such a condition that toy medical advisers told me
frankly that I had nothing to hope from remedies; that my condition was a hopeless one;
and I looked to death alone for a termination of a miserable existence. Mr. J. L. Lyons,
a druggist of New Orleans, about six months ago advised me (o try the Buffalo Lithia
Water, Spring No. 2, which I did. About a week after I commenced the use of it, I had
an attack of less than usual severity, in which I passed two small stones, one of which I
placed in a tumbler of water, and in about three hours f uni) it dissolved to a fine powder.
That gave me confidence, and I determined to persevere in its >.se, 1 have had no attack
whatever since, nor h; s there been any discharge of stone or sand.
The pain in my kidneys has entirely disappeared , my weight, which had been greatly
5 reduced, I fully regained; and my general health has been entirely restored. I very cheer
i fully acknowledge my indebtedness to the Buffalo Lithia Water for my life, and the com
i fort which I now enjoy. Respectfully, C. Wolffe.

Gravier and Camp streets, New Orleans, La.
New Orleans, La., April 5, 1878.
I am personally cognizant of the truthfulness of the foregoing statement of Mr. C
