2 A FAST SCHEDULE I Is That Put on Today by the E. T.» V. & Ga. EXCELLENTTRAIN SERVICE Only Two and a Half Hours From Rome to Atlanta—lm portant Change. The E. T., V. & G. puts in effect today its winter sc tied it es and it is safe to say that they are the best the road ever operated. In addition to the quickening up of 'he time to Florida and the restoration of the famous “Cincinnati and Florida Limited” vestibule train which is now in the fourth year of its existence and increasing yearly ! in popularity, the local business has not ' been forgotten and the representatives of the E. F., V. & G. can now offer to the traveling public schedules in eveiy di rection unsurpassed by any line. The figures at Romo are as follows: The “Cincinnati and Florida Limited” will pass R ima at 8:35 a. m. arriving in Atlanta 11:10 a. m., and running between Atlanta and Macon in the unprecedented time of two hours and twenty-nine minutts, dashing onto Jacksonville ar riving 10:40 p. m. It seems a'most in credible that any one will be able to leave Rome in the morning and arrive in Jack sonville by bed time, but it becomes a ' fact wi h this schedule. It is unnecces- ! sary to comment on the elegant equip ment which comprises this train. The ocher fait train passes Rome at 11:10 . m arriving in Atlanta 1:50 a. m., and Jacksonville atl p tn. the same day. A local train making all stops between R >me and Atlanta will leave Rome at 11 a. m. S > much for the servive southbound. Northward the Florida limited leaves Rome 5:36 a. m., running through to Cin cinnati, arriving at that point at 7 p. m., where connection is made with trains in all directions. At Chattanooga, trains for Memphis and the west leave im mediately upon its arrival, and also the celebiated Washington and Chattanooga limited leaves for the east. Then comes along a local train at 11:10 a. m., making all stops between Rome and Chattanooga. The old reliable Cincinnati and Chicago express passes at 4:45 p. m., arriving at Chattanooga at 7:10 p. m., and Cincin nati 7:20 a. m. Alabama division train No. 3 leaves Rome at 11:35 a. m., returning arrives at Rome 4:35 p. tn. Train 72 for Attalla leaves at 2 p. m. except on Sundays, when it leaves at 5 p. tn. Returning, arrives at Rome 10:45 a. m., Sundays 10 a. m. FIRE IN NORTH ROME. The Residence of r- - BMCgd Just after noon yesterday the residence of Mr. Duncan McCurry, corner of Third avenue and Forsyth street in North Rome, caught fire and burned to the ground. Some of the furniture was saved, much of it badly damaged. The house of Rev. W. M. Bridges is only a few feet away and barely escaped going up in flames. Mr. McCurry’s loss is about SI,OOO.
