Highest of all in Leavening Power.—Latest U. S. Gov’t Report
ABSOLUTELY PURE
Z WALTER H. MITCHELL
ZDleg Very Suddenly at a Hospital in New
Orleans.
Yesterday evening about 6 o’clock Miss
Minnie Mitchell received a telegram from
an undertaker in New Orleans stating
that Mr. Walter H. Mitchell, of Rome,
had died very suddenly at a hospital in
that city, and asking for instructions
what to do with the remains.
Miss Mitchell immediately wired the
undertaker to hold the body until further
orders. She then wired her mother, Mrs
Dr. R. V. Mitchell, who is attending the
Mardi Gras, informing her of the death,
which was doubtless unknown to her.
Mr. Mitchell was the oldest child of
Dr. R. V. Mitchell, deceased, who was
born to him by his first wife. He was
about 35 years old and had been a mem
ber of the Rome legal fraternity for many
years.
The announcement of his sudden death
will cause universal sorrow.
His remains will be brought to Rome
for interrment. <
A Brilliant Reception. /
The initial social event of the week was
the reception given by Mr. and Mrs. J. F.
Wardlaw, at their home in the Fourth
ward last evening, complimentary to their
daughter, Mrs. C. C. Holmes, of Macon,
and Miss Dowdle, of Tuskegee, Ala. The
occasion was graced with the beauty and
chivalry of Rome, and the genial and
hospitable host and hostess were triumph
ant in their efforts to make their guests
enjoy a most pleasant and enjoyable
evening.
