The New York Mirror of last week
says editorially, th at first class entertain

the best. That they have succeeded the

Barlow, Dalanson and Powers, Mam

A PRETTY WINDOW.
The Parks Store Remembers the 4th With
Handsom ■ Decorations
One of the prettiest sights to be seen
in Rome today will be a window in the
Parks store. Yesterday afternoon,Man
ager Sam Powers gave a Tribune repor
ter a glympse of it.
On one side of the back part of the
window is a fine, life size portrait of
George Washington, and on the other,
one of his wife, Martha Washington.
Both pictures are unusually good, and
are draped with red, white and blue.
In front of each of these is a stack of
gems. In the center is a splendid im
itation of the old liberty bell, and the
entire window is decorated with scores
of flags. Altogether it is beautiful and
artistic piece of work, and is a credit to
the taste of Manager Sam Powers.
Mr. Jack Gleam, who was at one
time employed in the express office here,
but now of Dalton, attended the Ma
sonic banquet last night.
Messrs. Morris, Strange and Little,
of Rockmart, attended the Masonic
meeting last night.
Little Battie, the baby of Mr and Mrs.
Charles Bysiegel is dangerously ill. Dr.
Hammond’s is the attendant physician.
Ms. Frank Tracy, wlro has been quite
ill with typhoid fever, is convalescent.
The baby is still quite sick, but is un
der the skillful treatment of Dr. Ham
mond’s.
Mr. Dick Treadaway will have a fin e
barbecue at Mobley Springs today. Go
out and get some cf his excellent Bruns
wick stew and barbecued meats. He
knows how to cook it to perfection.
You can get a good dinner, keep cool,
and be on hand for the races in the af
