The subject of this sketch, one of file brightest and best attorneys in this section, was born in Savannah in the latter part of 1849, moving to Kome in 1878, he practiced law here until 1879. 111 1877 he was elected a member of-the eity council and was re-elected without opposition for a second term. On account of a slight trouble with his hearing and becom ing' afflicted with acute indigestion he n/oved to the country for the benefit of his health. In 1887 he returned to the city, entering into partnership with Mr. L. A. Dean, which partner ship continued until 1894 when he was elected city attorney and clerk of council. He has made a splendid reputation as a lawyer and especially in the real estate line and still carries on a gen eral practice. No lawyer excels him in corporation law from which he has made an exhaus tive study. Combined with his- great ability as ’ a lawyer his deep learning and im pressive ability as an orator he has a personal magnetism which makes for him friends of ali with whom he comes in contact and holds them to him as warm admirers. He is a genial gentle man, and pleasant companion which is a most happy combination, with such legal ability as has- made him one of the first lawyers in this section-, of the state. ■ HON. MOSES R. WRIGHT. Hon. Moses R. Wright, having; proved his ability as a law maker,, now proposes to demonstrate his* efficiency as an interpreter of the same in the position of solicitor gen eral of the Rome circuit. He is a son of Hon. Augustus K. Wright and has inherited a very large ■■ z z yBjT 1 r ; ■ TO HON. MOSES R. WRIGHT. share of the brilliancy of his sire, and adds to that a large amount of native talent and ability all his own. Born and bred in Floyd county, he is es sentially a Georgian. His education began here, ami he afterwards grad uated at the University of Georgia. With the exception of a few months, in Tennessee, he has never lived any where except in Georgia, and in Floyd county. , Although still a young man he is recognized, and has been for some time, as one of the very best and most successful lawyers of this section. He combines a thorough knowledge of legal principles, with technical train ing, and on top of that has inherited rrom his father an eloquent and grace ful delivery that puts him in the front rank of speakers of the state. His popularity before the people isshown by his leading all candidates in the race for the legislature, he now being one of Floyd’s three representa fives. He was born near Tullahoma, ‘ Tenn., but came to Floyd county in his youth. He was a farmer for many l ( years and hauled wood to this city. I In 1879 he engaged in the mercantile • business.
