due on the 15th lost., and all persons
who have not paid said first half are
liable to have executions issued againt
them for the whole amount of their
tax for 1896. Persons interested are
notified to call at the city clerk’s of

resort—only twenty miles from the beau
tiful and historic city of Savannah.
Special Train Service
For the comfort and pleasure of the Rain
bow Fire Company and their friends the
Western and Atlantic Railroad will run
a special train to leave Rome Wednesday
morning, July 8. at 4:15 o’clock, arrive
at Savannah 6 p. m. and Tybee Island 7
p. m. This train will carry elegant day
coaches through to Savannah without
change, making direct connection with
the Tybee Railroad for the Island. Other
schedules are: Leave Rome 5:15 a. m.,
9:10 a. m, and 4:05 p. m.; arrive at Sa
vannah 6 a. m. and Tybee 10 a. m.
A Very Low Rate of 87.00
For the round trip (Rome to Tybee and
return) has been secured, tickets to be
sold for all trains July 8, limited to re
turn on any tram within ren days. Bag
gage will be checked through to the
Island.
Hotel Accommodation,
There are three elegant hotels on the
Island, located on the beach, convenient
to the railroad. The South End Hotel
has made the fire company and their
friends a very low rate. Bathing free if
