FOR FALL BUSINESS
Every Advertiser Should Be
Represented
IN THE TRIBUNE’S TRADE EDITION
It Will Be Issued Early in October and
Will Ec'ipee all Previous Efforts
In This Line.
Readers oU The Tribune have
learned to look forward to each new
and successful achievruent of Rome’s
great daily. We have issued several
special editions since the present
management has been in charge and
we are happy to say that each and
every one has been an improvement
on its predecessor as has been evinced
by the popular public favor with
which they have been received.
Early in October we intend to issue
a special edition which will eclipse
our previous efforts. Rome is steadily
growing and there is healthy and sub
stantial improvement going on all
over the section of country tributary
to the North Georgia metropolis. Now
is the time to keep our advantages
before the people.
In no other way can this be done
quite so successfully as through the
medium of a widely circulated news
paper like The Tribune. Every edi
tion of a special character that we
have gotten out has gone abroad on
its mission of progress and the results
have been made apparent by the at
tention attracted to. this section of
country.
We have endeavorad to make every
edition as full and complete as possi
ble, but in this one we want to cover
the whole ground. All that we ask is
the liberal co-operation of the people
for whom we have labored so earnestly
and for whom we expect to continue
to work as long as we control the des
tinies of The Tribune
It will be to the interest of every
business or professional man in North
Georgia and North and East Alabama,
to secure space in this great issue
The merchant, the manufacturer, the
land owner, the mine operator, the
professional man and all who are in
terested in educational, industrial
work, or emigration work, will l,e
benefited by represention in its col
umns.
Not less than ten thousand readers,
in every part of the country, and
especially in the West and Northwest,
will read this great edition and profit
by the information gained from its
columns. Our solicitors are already
out and will make a thorough canvass
of the country contiguous to Rome
and we bespeak for them the consider
ation which they are entitled to in
promoting this laudable enterprise in
the interest of our city and section.

WOMEN WHO MADDEN MEN.
Do It Innocently, Because They Do Not
Know How to Be Wives.
Women may be charming, wholly
devoted to their homes aud their hus
bands, and yet be so tactless, thought
less and aggravating as to drive hus
bands to the extreme of misery. Any
observant bachelor could recall numbers
of instances of women who from want
of tact and intelligence arc almost driv
ing their husbands mad by getting on
their nerves. They forget that busy men
require absolute brain rest, change of
scene, change of subject. They forget
that, however worrying the little affairs
of a household may be, the anxieties of
a great business upon which the whole
family’s present and future depend are
far greater. A friend of mine who is
now nearly a millionaire told me in
confidence that while he was sitting one
night over his smoking room fire won
dering whether he could next day possi
bly survive a terrible crisis which was
hanging over his head and might lead
to disastrous bankruptcy, with debts to

It is on such occasions that a man
wants a helpful wife—one who will tell
him about or read aloud the last good
novel, who will say: “Come, let us go
to the theater tonight. You need chauge
of scene. ” And, above all, one who
knows just when her husband requires
nothing more than to be left alone. It
is women who get on their husbands’
nerves that drive them to take bachelor
holidays when they ought to be getting
more enjoyment from the wife’s com
panionship.
Os course there are men who are al
ways cut of sorts—dyspeptic bears with
sore beads, who require strong minds to
manage them—but there are very many
others who only want judicious, sym

avoid saying silly things or trying to

NINE MONTHS IN BED. CURED

procured a bottle of “Mystic Cure.” It got
me out of the bouse in twenty-four hours.
I took to my bed with Rheumatism nine
months ago and the “Mystic Cure” is the
only medicine that did any good. I had
five of the best physicians in the city, but
received very little relie. irom them. I
know that Mystic Cure to be what it is rep

Aixi He Was a Lunatic.
A gentleman was visiting a Scotch
lunatic asylum where new premises
were being added. The inmates were
assisting. On seeing one of the latter
wheeling a barrow upside down from
the building to the stones, the visitor
asked him why he wheeled it in that
manner. “Oh, ” said the lunatic, “that’s
the best way.” The visitor took the
barrow, and turning it right side up
said, “This is the proper way.”
“That’s a’ you ken,” said the inmate.
“I tried it that way, but they filled it
fu’ o’ bricks.” So saying, he trotted on
bis usual way.—Exchange.
A good recommendation for Simmons
Liver Regulator is, that it is purely vege
table and strongly tonic. Then too, it is
Better than Pills because easier to take in

while the relief from Constipation, Bilious

quick and sure. “I find Sinunons Liver
Regulator a very safe and valuable family

Homeward through the night I run ,
To the heaven just ahead.
Light o’ love, light o’ love,
Other refuge have I none.
Thou the worth of life must prove
While the fight is yet unwon.
Scant the fare that love may share.
Fule the lips that love may press.
Stern the burdens love must share.
Fierce the wrongs that wait redress.
Heart o’ life, heart o’ life,

People Don’t Buy Pianos
For looks alone. If they did. any one of "
the pretty piano cases, offered for sale,
with the tin-pan attachment inside, would
do very well and not cost much.
A tew months’ use serves to show the
difference between a good and bad piano
between a piano carefully made of ex
cellent material and a piano made of
cheap stuff, slapped together anyhow.
The Conover is as good a piano as was
ever made. You may see it any time you
will come in. Seeing’s free.”
