IN THE TRIBUNE’S TRADE EDITION
Will Will Be I'tued K rly in Octeber
and Eclipse 411 Previous Effort*
In This Une.
Readers o' Thk Tribune have
learned to look forward to each new
and successful achievment of Rome’s
great daily. We have issued several
special editions since the present
management has been in charge and
we are happy to say that eacn and
every one has been an improvement
ou its predecessor as has been evinced
by the popular public favor with
which they have been received.
Early in October we intend to issue
a special edition which will eclipse
our previous efforts. Rome is steadily
growing and there is healthy and sub
stantial improvement going ou all
over the section of country tributary
to the North Georgia metropolis. Now
is the time to keep our advantages
before the people.
In no other way can this be done
quite so successfully as through the
medium ot a widely circulated news
paper like The Tribune. Every edi
tion of a speeftd character that we
have gotten out has gone abroad on
its mission of progress and the results
have been made apparent by the at
tention attracted to this section of
country.
We have endeavorsd to make every
edition as full and complete as possi
ble, but in this one we want to cover
the whole ground. All that we ask is
the liberal co-operation of the people
for whom we have labored so earnestly
and for whom we expect to continue
to worn as long as we control the des
tinies of The Tribune .
; It will be to the interest of every
business or professional man in North
Georgia and North and East Alabama,
to secure space in great issue
The merchant, the manufacturer, the
land owner, the mine operator, the
professional man and all who are in
terested in educational, industrial
work, or emigration work, will t.e
benefitted by represention in its col
umns.
Not less than ten thousand readers,
in every part of the country, and
especially in the West and Northwest,
will read this great edition and profit
by the information gained from its
columns. Our solicitors are already
out and will make a thorough canvass
of the country contiguous to Rome
and we bespeak for them the consider
ation which they are entitled to in
promoting this laudable enterprise in
the interest of our city and section.
The Ideal Panrcea.
James L. Aiderman, Chi
cago, says: “I regard Dr King’s- New
Discovery as an Ideal Panacea for
Coughs, Colds and Lung Complaints,
having used it in my family for the
last five years, to the exclusion of phy
sician’s prescriptions or other prepara
tions.”
Rev. John Burgus, Keokuk, lowa,
writes: “I have been a Minister of the
Methodist Episcopal church for 50
years or more, and have never found
anything so beneficial or that gave me
such speedy relief as Dr. King’s New
Discovery.” Try this Ideal Cough

A Lively Day In Summerville Last Satur
day.
Last Saturday was a lively day in
Summerville, and reminded one some
what of the old days, long since gone
by, when a few broken heads and
bloody noses was a common occur
rence.
The town was full of people and
some of the people seemed to be full
of “bug juice.” At least indications
to that effect were not lacking.

The SYMPTOMS of Liver Complaint are a
bitter or bad taste■&. V*a mouth; Fain in the
Back, Sides or Joints, often mistaken for Rheu

Bowels alternately costive and lax; Headache:
Loss of Memory, with a painful sensation of
having failed to do something which ought to
have been done; Debility; Low Spirits, a thick
yellow appearance of the Skin and Byes, a dry
Cough often mistaken for Consumption.
Sometimes many of these symptoms attend
the disense, at others very few; but the Liver
is generally the seat of the disease, and if not
Regulated in time, great suffering, wretched
ness and DEATH will ensue.
The following highly esteemed persons attest
to the virtues of Simmons Liver Regulator:

The trouble seemed to be between
R. P. Waters and ton, Charley, on
one side, and Messrs. Shropshire and
Smith, of Rome, and Joe Davis, of
Summerville, on the other.
It seems that when indications of
trouble began to arise Shropshire and
Smith retired rapidly and very suc
cessfully from the field, leaving Joe
Davis on the ground. In the rucus
which followed Mr. Davis was hit
over the head with a stick in the
hands of Charley Waters which in
flicted an ugly gash where the blow
fell. It is said that the brick bats
flew thick and fast for a few mommts,
when Mr. Davis retired and left the
ground in possession of the enemy.
Later, R. P. Waters and Charley
Waters undertook to get young Sbrop
shire out of town, with the purpose,
as they stated, of having “a talk”
with him. Shropshire declined to go,
when a general difficulty followed.
Shropshire drew his knife to defend
himself, when Charley Waters threw
him, or knocked him down, and pro
ceeded to choke him.
In the meantime a large crowd had
gathered. Squire Chastain was urg
ing his bailiff to arrest the belliger
ents; the candidates stopped talking
long enough to see the fight; the may
or and the marshal and some of the
councilmen gathered around, and in
the meantime the cursing and swear
ing was kept up by the fighters, until
finally Squire Cbastain, with assist
ance from others, got the men parted.
Later. Charley Waters was fined
$5.00 and costs by the mayor, while
the other participants were dis
charged.
Common report has it that a game
was in progress in the woods back of
town, at which Shropshire and Smith
walked off with the boodle.’ It is said
that this so enraged the losers that it
led up the difficulty.—Chattooga
