GOOD MORNING ’ -MORNING OF THE SEASON. )* ; * * Greetings over, we wish to write it down that we are ready for the Fall Business, and to say that we want your patronage. We shall bid for it by trying to deserve it, and thank you in advance for such patronage as you may give us during the season. We have sought, without spare of money, ’to anticipate the wants of the people. We have undertaken to give that completeness and that read iness to every department of the store never before achieved. The best buying talent in Rome has represented us this season in the country’s great trade centers, while one of our buyers has spent much time buying in foreign markets. Three-fourths of our entire imported dress goods stock was bought by him in Germany. Our Laces, Dress Trimmings, Handkerchiefs, Gloves and Fancy Articles he ■secured at their very fountain head, in Belgium, Switzerland, Italy and France. They are now in stock, shipped in before the uptilt of import duties. We bought our goods, nearly sß,ooo worth, before the high tariff went into effect and in the face of certain advance we shall sell them at old prices. have ever given our patronage the benefit of good purchases. We’ll not depart from the practice now. This great stock of select merchandise will be re tailed at prices as low as if the old tariff had never been disturbed. Goods are now much higher at the factories and in the hands of jobbers. We offer a remarkable opportunity to buyers. Our prices are much lower than you will find elsewhere.
