Rev. G. D. Brown, Mondovi, Wis.:
The effect of Stuart’s Dyspepsia

ROBBERS OUT ON A RAID.
Dynamite Dick’i Gang Is Determined te
Have Money or Death.
Jefferson City, Mo., Oct. 28.—Twa
territory gangs of outlaws are contem
plating a bank robbery somewhere in
the southwest, according to the follow
ing letter from Heck Thomas of Guthrie,
O. T., received by Governor Stephens
through State Senator Hazell of Cali
fornia, Ma, to whom Thomas originally
sent it:
•‘Dynamite Dick’s gang and Jen
nings’ gang of bank and train robbers
are out on a raid and they are going to
have money at any cost. If yon have
any friends in the banking business
along the borders of Arkansas, Missouri
and the Indian Territory you can tell
them I say to look out.”
Thomas is sxid to be a reputable oiti
izen and ha* considerable knowledge of
the doings of the gangs in question.

MANY FARMERS TO MEET.
Cotton Aeren<« Qaentlou Will He Con-
■ iiloreil at Oulumbla
Columbia. S. 0.. Oct. 28.—President
Wilbern of the State Farmers’ Alliance
has issued this call to the farmers and
cotton growers:
“As president of the Farmers’ State
Alliance organization of this state, I
have been requested by numbers of the
representative members of the organi
sation to take the initiative in calling a
meeting of the farmers of the southern
states, with the view to suggesting
some action in the future looking to
the regulation of the acreage of cotton;
also to discuss the plans ami, methods
of marketing the cotton crop, so that
the producers of this great staple shall
receive the real value of the crop, and
not be forced to sacrifice the crop by
unfair combinations, together with the
manipulations of the gambling oottbn
exchanges of the country, aided by the
unjust accumulation of all the money
of the country at one center at the prin
cipal time of the year when our cotton
is going into market.
"With these objects in view, I desire
to request the cotton growers of the va
rious counties in this state to meet on
salesday in November and select one or
more delegates to represent them at a
meeting to be held in this city of Co
lumbia, on Wednesday, Nov. 10, for the
purpose of discussing the matters men
tioned above.”

VERY ANGRY IS VINCENT.
The Ex-Judge May Defend Luetgert
at His Approaching: Trial.
Chicago, Oct. 28. —There is a strong
probability that ex-Judge Vincent will
not appear as counsel for Adolph L
Luetgert in his second trial, which is
scheduled for next week. Luetgert sent
for ex-Assistant Attorney Ramsay to
Consult With him relative to taking
charge of the new trial.
A very heated convergatiQn. it is said,
took place between the big sausage
maker and his counsel at the jail. Ex-
Judge Vincent urged Luetgert to agree
to a reasonable continuance of the case,
but he was obdurate.
Mr. Vincent then told Luetgert that
he had neglected his own business for
three months to try the case, and now
proposed to have » little time for him
self. Luetgert became very angry and
sent for Attorney Ramsay.

Governor Rogers has sent President

St. Michaels, Alaska, winch would have
the effect of barring out citizens of this
state who might wish to engage in bus

to The Oregonian, in which the injuri
ous character of such an order is fully

Dallas, Oct 28.—The Popnlist state

sessions here, and it is learned that the
committee advises the party in Texas to
stand by the Ohio platform in national
issues, but in state affairs to support
any movement to redeem the state from
“Democratic ring rule. ” This is ac

An Important Divorce Ruling.
Minita, I. T., Oct. 28.—Judge John
R. Thomas of the United States court,
now in session here,,has made an im
portant and farreaching ruling. Judge
Thomas held that the publication of
warning notices to nonresident defend
ants in divorce proceedings was null
and void, and that actual service must
be had on such defendants. The decis
ion, if sustained in the higher courts,
to which an appeal will be taken, will
set aside scores of marriages contracted
by parties who have obtained decrees of
