' Austrian Statesmen Fight With Their
Fist.— Fol ice Restore—Order.
Vienna, Nov. 26 —The disorder in
the lower house of the reichsrath was
so accentuated that .a strong detach
ment of police hud to be called in to
preserve order.
, When the president of the house, Dr.
' Abrahatnovies, entered he was greeted
i with vociferous shouts of “get out.”
' The Leftists rose to their feet in a body,
i many of the deputies shrieked wiidiy
1 and an indessribaoie tumult to.lowed.
' During the tumult a Social Democrat,
i Herr Berner, made a rush for the pres
i ideut and a lively fist fight followed be
' tween Berner.and the house attendants,
, who attempted to protect the chair.
> Thereupon, another Social Democrat.
[ Herr Rexel, jumped upon the ministerial
i bench, and hurrying to the presidential
i chair, seized the papers, which were
I lying on the president’s desk, and tore

manded satisfaction for the attendants’
3 pummelling of Herr Berner. President
Abrahamovics was compelled to flee.
i Subsequently, the Social Democrats
9 and other deputies indulged in a free
fight and Herr Berner was ejected from
; the house.
In tne meantime a detachment of 70
J police arrived in the house and the
; officer in command called upon the So
cial Democrats to withdraw from the
j presidential platform. They, however,

attempts of the police to eject them.
’ They were eventually removed forcibly

. The scenes were enacted prior to the
■ formal opening of the house. While
’ the deputies were fighting and howling
, on the floor of the house a tumult arose
, in the second gallery, which the attend

then caused all lobbies of the house to
be filled with police, the gates were
closed and the building was guarded by
