NR PROCTOR WEDS HISS CLARA ADKINS
Quiet Home Wedding Last Evening—Mr.
Woolfolk Married to Mlsa Hattie
Bass at 3:30 Yesterday Afternoon
Last evening at 8 o’clock in the parlors
of the briae’s mother, Mrs. E. A Hume,
610 West. Sixth street, Miss Daisy Ro
tnijne Adkins was married.to Mr. John
Marshall Proctor.
The home was beautifully decorated,
and brilliantly Lghted and the families
of the contracting parties and a number
of their friends gathered to witness the
pretty ani impressive Episcopal cere
mony performed by Rev. C. B. Hudgins.
The bride looked very sweet and win -
some, and the groom brave and hand
some, and both very happy, as they stood
and listened to the words that made
them husband and wife.
This was the consummation of a love
affair of ten years, and the happiness
mirrored in their faces needed no words
to tell that the marriage vows summed
up life’s hopes, and that bravely, hand
and hand, they would journey through
to the end.
The attendants were:
Dr F. A. Wynn, of Atlanta, and
Miss Annie Proctor.
Mr. J- V. Hollingsworth, of Atlanta,
and Miss Mary Williamson.
Mr. E. D. Proctor, best man, and
Mies Daisy Lansdell, maid of honor.
Miss Zula Adkins, the bride’s cousin,
flower girl.
Messrs. Julian Hume, Ben Lansdell,
George Proctor, and Nevin Adkins,
ushers.
Tbe bride is a very charming and
accomplished youug lady and her
friends are limited only by the extent
of her acquaintance.
Mr. Proctor—why it seems useless
to attempt to say anything of him
here where everyone know, loves,
and esteems him. He is one of those
earnest wholesome young fellows of
such genuine and real merit that ’tie
good to know him. He is connected
with the E. E Forbes music and
bicycle house, and is a splendid young
business man.
WOOLFOLK-BASS.
A Pretty Wedding- of One of Rome’s Most
Accomplished Young Radies.
On yesterday afternoon at the First
Methodist church occurred a stylish
and happy wedding and one in which
many Romans were interested.
The church was thronged with friends
to witness the ceremony in which Miss
Hattie Bass became the wife of Mr. John
Washington Woolfolk. Promptly at the
appointed hour there was beard from
the organ, under the skilled touch of
Prof. Thompson, the half plaintive,
half-joyous strains of the “Bridal March”
from “Lohengrin,” by which the bridal
party entered the church.
First the ushers marched down the
aisles in pairs. They were Mr. Arthur
Word, Prof. J. C. Harris, Mr. P. S.
Black and Dr. Lindsay Johnson. Then
the groom and his best man entered the
church dowu the left aisle, and the bride
on the arm of her sister, Miss Bell, came
down the right aisle, meeting at the
altar.
While the entrancing strains of “O!
Promise Me” vibrated through the air.
Dr. Belk deliberately and impressively
read the marriage service, and the happy
couple uttered the sacred vows of con*
stancy which shall bind one to another
so long as life shall last.
The bride was handsomely attired in a
becoming travelling suit of dark blue
cloth, with grey and gold trimmings aud
carried an exquisite boquet of white
roses. Her sister, Miss Bell, looked very
handsome in a street costume of green
cloth.
Mrs. Woolfolk as Miss Bass was much

Mr, Woolfolk is a man in every way
worthy of a noble wife; by his energy

fortune, and by his genial ways and
generosity of heart, he has made friends
by the score.
The presents recceived by Mr. and Mrs,
Woolfolk were very handsome; among
the most highly appreciated was the
remembrance given by the public schco
teachers and board of trustees. The
present from the groom’s mother was a
magnificent set, each, of silver and china.
The bridal couple left immediately
