“C. I. Hood & Co., Lowell, Mass.:
“ Dear Sirs: —Before using Hood’s Sarsapa

what was the matter with me. One day I would
feel so tired I could hardly stand, the next I
would have a severe headache and so on, not
knowing what the next day would bring forth.

used six bottles and feel as well as ever. It has
been of great benefit to me as I have regained
my appetite and

LAID TO REST.
The East Sad Rites Over the Body of Miss
Bessie Cothran.
At 11 o'clock yesterday morning a
large number of the friends of Miss
Bessie Cotbran _ and _of_ the family
gathered at g the First Presbyterian
church,' where the funeral services
were held over the body of this sweet
natured girl, whom God in his mercy
took from the suffering of this world to
the happy land beyond the river.
I'he services were conducted by Rev.
Dr. Goetchius, and his talk was one of
the most impressive ever e.lvered from
a Ron'ie~*pulf>it. He told of her strong
faith,her unfailing trustful; ess, strength
of character, and the sweet smile of
happy anticipation which was frozen
upon her'lips b y the grim hand of
death. Death had no terror for her; it
rather showed her the real joys of the
world to come and with a bright smile
she was ushered into the Holy presence
of her MaKer. Dr. Headden assisted in
the services, and his prayer was most
touching and heartfelt. The music of
the choir seemed to be as an echo from
Heaven, and not one who attended the
services failed to be deeply impressed
and benefitted. A short service was
held on Myrtle Hill, and then with the
snowy mantle of spotless white around
-■ suggestive of of the pure soul just de
parted, the body was consigned to its
last resting place.
