Moses and Aaron asked Pharaoh to permit the people of Israel to go to the desert to worship God. Pharaoh refused and made life difficult for the People of Israel. Moses prayed to God and God reaffirmed the covenant that he had made with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - to give them the Land of Canaan..
