JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
The City of Soperton, Georgia is accepting applications/resumes for the
position of Water / Wastewater Supervisor. The position is a full-time
position and may require overtime or on call work.
Desired Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
(A) Graduation from high school education or GED equivalent. (B)
Valid State Driver's license and good driving record for past three years.
(C) Possession of Class III Water Certification and a Class II Wastewa
ter Certification or the ability to attain certification within one year of
appointment. Water/Wastewater treatment experience is desired.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
(A) Working knowledge of equipment, facilities, materials, methods,
and procedures used in wastewater treatment plant, maintenance, and
operation activities, working knowledge of laboratory procedures and
practices. (B) Skill in operation of tools and equipment commonly used
in a water/wastewater treatment plant. (C) Ability to perform process
control calculations; ability to work safely; ability to communicate ef
fectively both verbally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain
effective working relationships with employees, other departments and
the public; ability to understand and carry out written and oral instruc
tions.
Physical Demands:
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and
occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 pounds. Specific vision abilities
required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision,
depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Job Summary:
In this position, the successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining
the integrity of all computer workstations and associated software within the
office building and the manufacture production floor. The IT Technician will
also be the main point of contact for employees who are experiencing com

• With installation, configuration and ongoing usability of system
hardware and software
• Offer daily operations and systems support to personnel

• Assist employees with computer problems and answer their questions
• Process and complete work orders as assigned.
• Conduct daily network backup operations
Education:
Two-year degree strongly preferred. Associates degree, professional certifi
cation and work experience may be substituted for degree.
Experience:
• 3+ years' experience in computer networks and systems maintenance
• 2+ years' experience on current network operating systems
• Experiences working in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage stress effectively in high-pres
sure
situations
• Understanding of IT principles and an ability to communicate technical
concepts effectively to a varied audience
