Mr. David Heath
Mr. David W. Heath,
age 59, of Lyons, died on
Wednesday, December 1,
2021, at his home after a
sudden illness.
Mr. Heath lived in
Dothan, AL, most of his
life, graduated from high
school there, and moved
to Lyons in 1999. He was
Baptist by faith. He was
an automotive mechanic
for many years and was
Parts Manager at Vida-
lia Motor Parts for many
years. He was preceded in
death by his parents, James
Heath and Irma Burnsed;
1 daughter, Lean Heath; 2
sisters, Vickey Heath Os
borne and Deloris Gard
ner; and 1 stepbrother, Bo
Burnsed.
His family includes
his wife, Barbie Trammell;
5 children, Jeremy Heath
and wife Bailey, and Jason
Heath, all of Greenbriar,
AR, Dereck Hughes of
Webb, AL, and Tasha Co
chran and Crystal Helmy
and husband Hosam, all
of Vidalia; his stepfather,
Elvin Burnsed of Dothan,
AL; 6 siblings, Danny
Heath and wife Angela of
Avon, AL, Jimmy Heath of

Muscle Shoals, AL, Mick
ey Heath and wife Lisa of

Mr. Elvin Wrenn
Mr. Elvin W. Wrenn,
age 65, of Tattnall County,
died on Wednesday, De
cember 1, 2021, at Memo
rial Health Meadows Hos
pital in Vidalia.
Mr. Wrenn was a na
tive of Tattnall County and
lived there most of his life,
in Savannah for several
years, and moved to Vidalia
in 1999. He was a carpen
ter, welder, and commer
cial painter. He was Baptist
by faith. He was preceded
in death by his parents,
Clinton Lamar Wrenn, Sr.,
and Mildred Irene Collins
Wrenn; and 1 sister, Fae
Wrenn Mann.
His family includes 5
siblings, Amanda Wrenn
of Vidalia, Lamar Wrenn
of Metter, Alan Wrenn
and wife Nancy of Lyons,
Janice Butler and hus
band Leon of Vidalia, and
Keith Wrenn and wife Sue
of Cumming; and several
nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral
service was held on Friday,
December 3, 2021, at 3:00
p.m., at Lakeview Memo
rial Gardens, with Mr. Jose
Caraballo officiating.

Mr. Jack Hilton
Mr. Jack Wayne Hilton,
age 68, ofKibbee Commu
nity, died on Tuesday, No
vember 30, 2021, at Doc
tors Hospital in Augusta
from injuries sustained at
his home on November 10.
Mr. Hilton was a life
long resident of Mont
gomery County, living
in Kibbee all of his life.
He was a 1970 graduate
of Montgomery County
High School and attend
ed Swainsboro Technical
College. He retired from
Edwin I. Hatch Plant after
32 years. He attended New
Life Church in Vidalia, and
was a beekeeper most of
his life. He was preceded
in death by his parents,
George Hilton and Louise
Williamson Hilton.
His family includes his
wife, Linda Hilton of Kib
bee; and 1 stepson, Robert
Southwell of Reidsville.
A celebration of life
service will be held at a
later date.

Mrs. Ann Oliver Clark, age
82, of Lyons, died Sunday,
November 28, 2021, at
Memorial Health Mead
ows Hospital after a brief
illness. She was a lifelong
resident of Lyons. She was
a 1956 graduate of Lyons
High School, attended
Wesleyan College in Ma
con, and earned a Bach
elor’s degree in Education
from the University of
Georgia. She taught school
for several years before tak
ing an active role in busi
ness with her husband as
his office manager at Ideal
Pharmacy, Vidalia Monu
ment Company, and Clark
and Shaw Monument.
She was a member of First
United Methodist Church,
John Durst Sunday school
class, New Life Circle and
served on various commit
tees at the church through
out the years. She was a
member of Preceptor Nu
Chapter of the Beta Sigma
Phi Sorority. She was very
devoted to her entire fam
ily and enjoyed spending
time with them. One of
her greatest joys was be
ing “Grandma” to her three
granddaughters and her
great-granddaughter. She
is preceded in death by
a daughter, Karen Leigh
Clark; parents, Evelyn
Sapp Carson and Marion
Carson.
Her family includes
her husband of sixty-one
years, Billy Clark of Lyons;
two children, Elizabeth
Clark Shaw and husband
Chuck of Lyons, and Wil
liam Clark of Lake Oconee;
three grandchildren, Anna
Shaw Willyard and hus
band Connor of Vidalia,
Lauren Shaw Hadden and
husband Tyler, and Em
ily Shaw and fiance Carlos
Lora, all of Lyons; and one
great-granddaughter, Au-
bree Kate Hadden.
The funeral was Thurs
day morning, December
2, at 11:00 at Lyons First
United Methodist Church
with Pastor Randall Smith
officiating. Burial followed
at Lyons City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Con

Akins, Scott Tuck, and Bill
Hammock.

authoritarian bully with an
enormous consumer base.
“Just do it” went the
most iconic Nike ad. No,
second thought, better to
“Just don’t” if it might
anger a government that
disappeared a star athlete
for the offense of accusing
an official of sexual assault
and is preparing to invade a
neighboring country.
If China were to take
Taiwan, would the NBA,
Nike or Lebron James do
anything more than offer
vague expressions of
concern and piffle about
how the situation is
complicated?
We certainly know
what Enes Kanter would
say. Which is why he
rightly deserves a Nike ad
celebrating his go-it-alone
truth-telling, and why, of
course, he’ll never get one.

Mrs. Celia Fountain
Gillis, age 81, of Mt. Ver
non, died Monday, No
vember 29, 2021, at the
Community Hospice
House in Vidalia after an
extended illness. She was
a lifelong resident of Mt.
Vernon, and she was a 1958
graduate of Montgomery
County High School. She
retired as a social worker
after twenty-nine years
from Montgomery County
Department of Family and
Children Services. She
was an active member of
the First Baptist Church
of Mt. Vernon, where she
taught Sunday school for
many years and was always
involved with Vacation
Bible School. She enjoyed
sewing, cooking, fishing,
spending time with family
and friends and going on
vacations with her family.
She is preceded in death
by her parents, Monroe E.
Fountain and Annie Wal
ters Fountain; and seven
siblings, J.M. Fountain,
Juanita F. Henry, LeRoy
Fountain, Marvin Foun
tain, Oreta F. Avery, Ber
nard Fountain, and Festus
Fountain.
Her family includes
her husband of sixty-three
years, Garland Gillis ofMt.
Vernon; three children,
Julie A. Gillis and Randy

School Class. He was pre
ceded in death by his par

His family includes his
wife of 45 years, Barbara

programs much as is
happening these days in
Washington under the
Biden Administration.
Not to mention an
energized Woke crowd
constantly taking us on a
guilt trip for sins
committed by past

reaped the whirlwind they
have sown. And they will
have deserved it.
