McLendon succeeds Ro-
manous Dotson, who is retir
ing after 49 years of service,
including 13 as the General
Manager.
"I am honored to have
been selected as the new Gen
eral Manager of Altamaha
EMC," McLendon said. "I
look forward to working with
the Board of Directors, the
employees, and the members
to build on the cooperative's
successes and tackle the chal
lenges ahead."
McLendon first began
working for the company in
1987 as a lineman apprentice.

charged with aggravated assault
and making terroristic threats fol
lowing a May 7 incident in Glen
wood involving juveniles that was
not reported to authorities until 12

In Highway 1 Accident
CHILDREN UNTOUCHED - Although the dump truck collided with
the SUV on the passenger side of the vehicle, the backseat
area of the car where the children were sitting was not caved
in - a phenomenon which Captain Jordan Kight said appears
to be a miracle.

A Wednesday afternoon
crash left one mother airlifted
after her SUV collided with a
dump truck at the intersection
of Resmondo Road and U.S.
Highway 1.
On Wednesday, May 10,
at approximately 3:12 P.M.,
the Toombs County 911 Dis
patch received a call of a wreck
involving a midsize SUV and a
dump truck at the intersection
of Resmondo Road and U.S.
HWY #1. Upon arrival, depu
ties observed an SUV, driven
by Angela Mills, 50, of Lyons,
that was in the north side me

the dump truck, driven by
Jason Handley, 34, of Jesup,
