Cable Technician/Facility Maintenance
Pineland is seeking a highly qualified individual to serve as a member of
the Outside Plant Team. The Individual selected to join this team will have a
primary role of installing, maintaining, and repairing fiber optic cable, and
maintaining the Central Office cable system. S/he will provide hands on
assistance and troubleshoot all equipment failures and service issues,
assist with locate requests, and conduct routine preventative maintenance
to buildings and facilities, including custodial care of plant and offices. The
individual will be in contact with customers on a day to day basis.
Qualifications
Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent plus one to three years of
technical training. One year experience in telephone plant operations also
required. Must have a valid DOT health card. Demonstrates ability to learn
new technology with accuracy and at a fast pace. Knowledge of voice and
broadband technologies preferred. Must be proficient in the use of hand
tools, including various punch tools, test equipment, ribbon and/or single
splicer’s and various power tools. Must have proven ability to complete
projects/assignments in a timely manner without constant supervision.

This position will be based out of Metter, Georgia.

COUNTY WORKS DIRECTOR
The Montgomery County Board of Commissioners is accepting applications to fill
the position of County Works Director. This position is responsible for scheduling,
assigning, and supervising the work of road construction and maintenance crews,
supervising the county’s solid waste collection and recycling centers, and supervising
the maintenance and repair of county owned buildings and grounds. This position
consolidates the positions of Road Superintendent, Solid Waste Director and Direc
tor of Buildings & Grounds.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of a
high school diploma or GED.
• Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the diverse objectives and
functions of the road department, solid waste services department and repair
and maintenance activities of the county’s buildings and grounds.
• Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the
State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
• Possession of GDOT approved traffic flagging certification within twelve (12)
months from the date of hire.
• Must pass a background check and drug screening.
