as well. McClendon is a
more physical runner, and
Peeples at full back is a
bruiser that can block and
carry the ball well.
Out at receiver Kylan
Page, Tyson Joiner, and
Shawn Brown are the top
three guys currently for the
Vikings. They all have
good speed and are solid
receivers.
Up front for Treutlen,
Branton Hackle will lead
the way at center. He is a
big guy that will be leader
up front. Johnny Johnson,
Jake Brooks, and Chestin
Collins all will see time at
guard; and at tackle Char-
vis Givens and Josh Aven-
dano will fill those roles.
On the defensive front
the Vikings will see Peeples
taking a big role. Demeeko
Terry is a quick defensive
end for Treutlen. Omarion
Thomas and Zach Glisson
will be in the middle of the
line. At linebacker Brooks
and Rod Fuller will be in
the middle of the defense.
On the outside at line
backer will be Markel
Hamilton, and Brantley
and Williams will rotate at
the other side.
In the secondary Page,
Joiner, and Brown will all
see time at cornerback,
along with Coney getting
time at safety. All are good
coverage guys and have
solid speed.
Brantley will also be
taking on the duties as
punter this season, with
Brown as the placekicker.
Hackle will be the long
snapper for the Vikings.
Coach Collins said, “I
have been pleased with the
community support. We
had some needs, and we
have had no issues in get
ting things taken care of.
The community has
stepped up to meet all oi
our needs for these young
men playing football.
“I have turned around
four programs that were in
similar shape. We need to
change the mindset, and it
will take time to do that.”
