The Lady Eagles
softball team of Mont
gomery County High
School picked up a win
over Treutlen on Mon
day of last week, but then
fell to East Laurens and
to Dublin on Wednesday
and Thursday. MCHS is
now 3-2 on the year,
vs. Treutlen
It was all MCHS as
they rolled to a four in
ning, run rule win over
the Lady Vikings.
Treutlen did get on the
board first with a run in
the top of the first in
ning, but MCHS
bounced back in the bot
tom half of the frame
with 10 runs to jump out
to a big lead.
In the second inning
MCHS added three more
runs, and then capped
off the win with a run in
the bottom of the third
inning to take a 14-1
lead. MCHS held in the
top of the fourth inning
to secure the win by the
run rule.
vs. E. Laurens
MCHS took their
first loss of the season on
Wednesday at home
against the Lady Falcons
of East Laurens. The Fal
cons scored first with
two runs in the top of the
second inning, but
MCHS picked up a run
in the bottom half to
close it to 2-1.
But in the top of the
third inning East Lau
rens added six more runs
and then scored one
more in the fifth inning
as they took the win, 9-1,
over MCHS.
vs. Dublin
It was a high scoring
game against the Lady
Irish on Thursday. Dub
lin picked up two runs in
the top of the first in
ning, but MCHS came
out and plated nine in
the bottom of the first to
take what appeared to be
a commanding lead, 9-2.
Dublin added three
runs in the second, but
MCHS answered with
two more as they held a
11-5 lead. But MCHS
did not score again in the
game. Dublin picked up
three runs in the fourth
to close it to 11-8, and
then they scored one in
the fifth to make it 11-9.
Dublin took the lead
in the top of the sixth in
ning with four runs, giv
ing them the advantage,
13-11. Dublin added one
more in the seventh in
ning on the way to a 14-
11 win over MCHS.
This week MCHS
was at Telfair on Tuesday
after presstime. They
will be back in action on
Thursday at Washington
County at 5:30 p.m.
