COUNTY WORKS DIRECTOR
The Montgomery County Board of Commissioners is accepting applications to fill
the position of County Works Director. This position is responsible for scheduling,
assigning, and supervising the work of road construction and maintenance crews,
supervising the county’s solid waste collection and recycling centers, and supervising
the maintenance and repair of county owned buildings and grounds. This position
consolidates the positions of Road Superintendent, Solid Waste Director and Direc
tor of Buildings & Grounds.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of a
high school diploma or GED.
• Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the diverse objectives and
functions of the road department, solid waste services department and repair
and maintenance activities of the county’s buildings and grounds.
• Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the
State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
• Possession of GDOT approved traffic flagging certification within twelve (12)
months from the date of hire.
• Must pass a background check and drug screening.

Director of Entrepreneur Development
Greater Vidalia" Center for Rural Entrepreneurship
The Greater Vidalia® Center for Rural Entrepreneurship (CRE) is slated to
open in 2024 and promises to be a synergistic hub for aspiring business owners,
innovative thinkers, and entrepreneurs of all ages. The goal in developing the
CRE is to grow the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the Greater Vidalia® Region
through education, incubation, engagement, and networking. The Director will
work closely with the Directors and Staff of the Greater Vidalia® Chamber (GVC),
Toombs County Development Authority (TCDA), and various other organizations
to design and create the programs for the CRE and will begin identifying
potential member clients while the project is in the final stage of development.
Basic Responsibilities:
Overall responsibility for operations of
the CRE
Performs the project and administrative
functions, including facilities
management and programming
Primary marketing and public
relations contact for the CRE facility,
programs, and activities
The perfect candidate would
have relevant experience with:
Small business start-ups and operations,
entrepreneurship development, project
management, or marketing
Relevant areas such as facilities
management, event management,
volunteer management, or social media
marketing
