The Vidalia High
School softball team played
three games last week and
picked up wins in all three.
That moved their record to
11-6 on the season and 6-2
in Region play where they
sit in second place. Last
week the Indians got wins
over Appling County
Brantley County and
Creekview.
vs. Appling
The Vidalia Lady Indi
ans fell behind early but
then exploded for five runs
in the bottom of the 4th
inning to run by Appling
County 8-2, Tuesday eve
ning in Vidalia. With the
win, the Lady Indians
moved to 4-2 in Region
3AA and will next face
Brantley County in Na-
hunta on Thursday.
On Tuesday, Appling
County jumped out to a
2-0 lead in the first inning
on a sacrifice fly and a solo
home run. These were the
only runs that senior Tym-
ber Harris would allow as
the Ga. Tech commit al
lowed just two more hits
the rest of the way and re
tired 13 straight batters at
one point in the game.
The Lady Indians got
their first run of the game
in the bottom of the 3rd on
an Aidyn Driggers solo
home run to right field, her
first of the year to make the
score 2-1.
The score remained
that way until the bottom
of the 4th inning, when
Vidalia delivered the
knockout blow, scoring
five runs, including a three-
run shot to left field by
Laylah Brantley, also her
first, and Emma Hum
phrey’s team-leading sixth
home run, a solo bomb to
centerfield to put the Lady
Indians up 6-2.
From there, Tymber
Harris took over en route
to her 8th win of the year,
striking out 11 Appling
batters while giving up just
four hits and two earned
runs.
Vidalia added two
more runs in the bottom of
the 6th inning on a single
by Gabby Royal and an
RBI by Ivy Berry to make
the final score 8-2.
vs. Brantley
It was a close game
against the Lady Herons
on Thursday of last week.
Neither team could get
much going in the first sev
eral innings, and Brantley
finally put the first run on
the board in the bottom of
the third inning.
VHS came back and
tied the game at 1-1 in the
top of the fifth inning, but
Brantley answered in the
bottom of the frame to
take a 2-1 lead.
In the top of the sixth
inning VHS plated four
runs as they jumped out to
a 5-2 lead on the Herons.
Brantley did get a run in
the bottom of the sixth in
ning to make it 5-3, but
VHS held on to get the win
by that score.
vs. Creekview
It was a battle for VHS
on Friday at home for VHS
against the Grizzlies of
Creekview. It was a pitch
ers dual with neither team
scoring a run through the
first five innings of the con
test.
VHS came through to
take the lead in the bottom
of the sixth inning with
two big runs. Creekview
managed to get a run in the
top of the seventh, but that
was all that VHS allowed
as they took the win, 2-1.
This week VHS hosted
Brantley County on Mon
day and were at Pierce
County on Tuesday after
presstime. They will be
back in action on Thursday
at home against Tattnall
County at 6:00 p.m., and
then will host rival Toombs
County on Saturday morn
ing at 10:30 a.m.

The Lady Crusaders
softball team of Robert
Toombs Christian Acad
emy had a tough week as
they dropped games to
Windsor Academy on
Monday and Thomas Jef
ferson on Tuesday, but
they bounced back with a
win over FPCA on
Wednesday.
vs. Windsor
It was one big inning
from Windsor that deter
mined the game. The Lady
Knights scored six runs in
the top of the second in
ning to jump out to a big
early lead. They added a
run in the top of the third
inning before RTCA

The Brewton-Parker
men's and women's soccer
teams took on Dalton State
last week on Thursday. It was
a tough day for BPC as they
fell in both games.
Women
The Brewton-Parker
Womens Soccer team trav
eled to Dalton, Ga., to face
Dalton State on Thursday
night. The Lady Barons (0-3-
1, 0-1 SSAC) lost to the
Roadrunners (4-2-1, 1-1
SSAC) by a score of 5-0.
The Lady Barons went
down early, conceding two
goals in the first three min
utes of the game. Kathleen
Fisher was able to get the first
shot off for the Lady Barons
in the 8th minute, but unfor
tunately, the shot was wide.
The Roadrunners ex-
scored two in the bottom
of the third. That made the
score 7-2.
Neither scored any
over the rest of the game
with Windsor winning 7-2.
Meredith Durden and
Leighton Williams each
had two hits for RTCA in
the game.
vs. TJ
Thomas Jefferson put
two runs on the board in
the bottom of the first in
ning as they went ahead
early, 2-0, on RTCA. That
would be all they needed,
but they did add another
run in the fourth inning.
RTCA had just three
hits in the game as they
lost to the Lady Jaguars,
3-0.
vs. FPCA
RTCA bounced back
tended their lead with a third
goal in the 23rd minute of the
game. Fisher had opportuni
ties for two more shots in the
38th minute, but both were
unsuccessful. The Roadrun
ners scored once again in the
42nd minute, followed by a
shot from Julissa Sanchez in
the 44th minute to finish out
the half.
The Lady Barons were
outplayed 10-4 in shots and
6-0 in shots on target in the
first half.
The Roadrunners came
out swinging in the second
half, taking six shots before
extending the lead to 5-0 in
the 63rd minute.
Unfortunately for the
Lady Barons, the offensive
threat grew cold as BPC was
unable to register a shot in
the second half. Despite the
10-0 shot advantage from the
on Wednesday against a
much weaker FPCA team.
RTCA scored two runs in
the first inning, and then
plated eight runs in the
second inning to take a
commanding lead, 10-0.
The Lady Crusaders
added six more runs in the
third inning as they won
the game by the run rule,
16-0.
Williams and Railee
Thomas led the team with
3 RBI's each. Maddie
Joyner, Bree Wimberly,
and Arlie Gooden each
drove in two runs.

hosts, BPC did a solid job
defensively to allow just the
lone goal as Naphtaline Cler-
meus gathered five saves in
the second 45.
The Lady Barons were
outshot 20-4 in overall at
tempts and 12-0 in shots on
goal. Clermeus had a total of
seven saves on the night.
Fisher led BPC with three
shots.
