TECHNICAL COLLEGE
POSITION: Diesel Technology
Instructor, Full-Time
LOCATION: Swainsboro Campus
POSITION DESCRIPTION: Full-time twelve (12) month faculty position. Under general supervision,
the instructor demonstrates the use of appropriate teaching techniques and evaluates students’ progress
in attaining goals and objectives; requests and maintains supplies and equipment; maintains program
certification/accreditation requirements as appropriate; prepares and maintains all required documenta
tion and administrative reports; ensures safety and security requirements are met; works with the CDL
program to maintain the colleges trucking fleet; meets with students and staff members to discuss stu
dents’ instructional programs and other issues; assists with recruitment, retention, and job placement ef
forts; maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field; maintains qualifications for
employment and follows rules and regulations as described by the Technical College System of Georgia
Policy Manual and other policies and procedures established by the institution.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED
Three years paid full-time, in-field / related work experience within the past seven years.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Hold an in-field educational credential. Hold in-field certifications
such as ASE. Having experience teaching in an accredited post-secondary institution is a plus.
SALARY/BENEFITS: Salary is to be commensurate with education and work experience. Benefits in
clude paid state holidays, annual leave and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits package.
