Obituaries
Mrs. Faye Waller
Mrs. Faye Conaway
Waller, age 82, of Mont
gomery County, died on
Friday, December 22,
2023, at the Community
Hospice House in Vida-
lia, after a long battle with
chronic Lymphoma.
Mrs. Waller was born
in Montgomery County
and graduated from Mont
gomery County High in
1959. She married Jimmy
Waller, and they lived in
the Atlanta area most of
their lives before mov
ing back in 2007. She was
a homemaker and was a
member of the Mt. Pisgah
Baptist Church in Kibbee.
She is preceded in death
by her husband of 52 years,
Jimmy Waller; 1 son, Shan
non Waller; and her par
ents, Lloyd Conaway and
Nellie Powell Conaway.
Her family includes
2 sisters, Joan Conaway
Whatley and Nell Conaway
Fountain and husband
Lamar, all of the Kibbee
Community; and several
nieces, nephews, cousins,
and special neighbor friend
and caregiver, Sue Sullivan.
The funeral service
was Tuesday afternoon,
December 26, at 2:00, in
the chapel of Ronald V.
Hall Funeral Home, with
Pastor Brian Durden offi
ciating. Burial followed at
Tarrytown City Cemetery.
Flowers are accepted,
or memorial contributions

tion, P.O. Box 2277, Vida-

Mr. Heath Boney
Mr. Heath Boney, age
35, of Higgston, died on
Thursday, December 21,
2023, at Memorial Health
in Savannah.
Mr. Boney was a native
of Vidalia and later moved
to Cobbtown. He was a
2006 graduate of Tattnall
County High School and
lived in Higgston for the
past several years. He cur
rently was working at Sa
vannah Luggage Works,
and previously worked at
Plant Jackson and with his
father at Four Rivers Pest
Control. He is preceded in
death by his brother, Matt
Boney; his maternal grand
parents, Jack and Reba
Cowart; and his paternal
grandfather, Charles Ed
win Boney.
His family includes
his parents, Christy Cow
art Collins of Vidalia, and
Ronnie Boney of Vida
lia and Donna Farmer of
Rincon; his paternal grand
mother, Frances Seigler
Right of Macon; 1 sister-
in-law, Stephanie Willis
Boney ofVidalia; niece and
nephews, Athens Boney,
Hannah Holloway and
Ezra Foskey; and several
aunts, uncles and cousins.
The funeral service
was Saturday morning, De
cember 23, at 11:00, in the
chapel of Ronald V. Hall
Funeral Home, with Pastor
Stephen Keen, Hank Ste-
verson, and Craig George
officiating.

Mr. John Mason
Mr. John R. Mason,
age 77, of Lyons, died on
Monday, December 25,
2023, at Memorial Health
Meadows Hospital in Vida
lia after a sudden illness.
Mr. Mason was a native
of Leesburg, FL, and was a
1964 graduate of Leesburg
High School. He earned
an Associate degree from
Manatee Junior College
in Bradenton, FL, earned
a scholastic scholarship in
baseball from Florida State
University, and went on to
earn a Bachelor’s degree in
Physical Education from
Florida State University.
He taught Physical Edu
cation and Drivers Ed for
2 years in Leesburg and
taught 3 years in Braden
ton. In 1978, he moved to
Vidalia to manage and op
erate Montgomery Sand
Mine and retired in 2001.
He was a member of Liber
ty Baptist Church in Lyons,
and was a former member
of First United Methodist
Church of Lyons, where
he taught the John Durst
Sunday School Class and
was President of the Men’s
Improvement Club for 5
years. He played softball
and coached little league at
Vidalia Recreation Depart
ment for several years. He
is preceded in death by 1
daughter, Kristen Michelle
Mason; and his parents,
L.B. Mason and Ellinor
Plowden Mason.
His family includes his
wife of 34 years, Ann Mix
on Mason of Lyons; 4 chil
dren, John “Mace” Mason,
Jr., and wife Claudia, and
Randall “Randy” Gregg
Mason and wife Amanda,
all of Florida, Tonya Zim
merman and Mike Goins
of Canton, and Matthew J.
Hutcheson and wife Jessica
of Statesboro; 7 grandchil
dren; 2 great-grandchil
dren; and his beloved dogs,
Bentley and Sadie.
The memorial service
was Thursday afternoon,
December 28, at 2:00, in
the chapel of Ronald V.
Hall Funeral Home, with
Pastor Michael Plowman
officiating.

Mr. Larry Palmer
Mr. Larry Palmer,
age 80, of Vidalia, died
on Monday, December
11, 2023, at
Glenwood
Health Care
after an ex
tended ill
ness.
Mr. Palmer was a native
of Vidalia, living most of
his life in Fort Lauderdale,
FL, before moving back to
Vidalia. He joined the Na
tional Guard and worked
as a roofing contractor. He
is preceded in death by his
parents, Laborn Palmer
and Merle Mixon Hum
phrey; brothers, Carlton
Palmer and SR Palmer; and
sisters, Frankie Sue Glaze
and Evelyn Brickie.
His family includes
1 son, Larry Palmer, Jr.; 1
daughter, Lorraine Palmer
Poling; 1 brother, J. Paul
Palmer and wife Shelby;
1 sister, Joyce Prescott; 3
grandchildren, Summer
Rae Poling, Laci Grace
Poling, and Charlotte Kay
Palmer; and several other
relatives.
The graveside service
was Thursday morning,
December 28, at 11:00, at
Pine Crest Cemetery, with
Pastor Brian Durden offici
ating.
