Innocent little babe now at rest, Safe from all harm on Jesus’s breast, When Jesus was here so gentle and mild, He showed that he loved a little child. “For such is the kingdom of Heaven, ” he said. Their souls go to him when their bodies are dead, There are baby hands from the golden shore, Pointing the way to heaven’s beautiful door. The little blue eyes closed here from our sight, Are shining now in Heaven, so bright, When we are nearing Death’s river bo wide. May we, as a child, reach the other side, And meet little Joe witli all the rest. Who have gone home to thst land o* the blest. Beu.e Gudgek.
