Cline
Fambrough
Cline Fambrough, 86, of
Winder, died Thursday,
November 20, 2008, at his
residence.
A native of Jackson County,
he was the son of the late
Clarence and i|uii.mu
Callie Fowler Bali ~
Fambrough.
He was a
member of The Winder First
United Methodist Church. He
was a veteran, having served
in the United States Army
during World War II, serv
ing in the European Theatre,
and was a retired Supply
Sergeant with the Georgia
Army National Guard. Mr.
Fambrough was preceded in
death by sisters, Ruth Boyd
and Sara Wiley; and broth
ers, Burton Fambrough and
Horace Fambrough.
Survivors include his wife,
Ruth Garner Fambrough,
Winder; and a number of
nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held
Saturday, November 22, in the
chapel of Carter Funeral Home
with the Rev. Terry Tippens
officiating. Burial was in the
New Canaan Baptist Church
cemetery in Buchanan.

Dave Bennett
Dave Bennett, 73, of
Loganville, passed away
Wednesday, November 19,
2008. Mr. Bennett was a
member of Chapel Christian
Church, Winder, a superinten
dent with Leslie Contracting
of Fayetteville and a U. S.
Army Veteran.
Mr. Bennett was the father
of Mike Bennett of Statham;
and brother of Ray Bennett of
Winder.
Funeral Services were held
Saturday, November 22, in the
Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral
Home, with the Rev. Johnny
Wright officiating. Interment
was in Corinth Memorial
Gardens, Loganville.

John Wilkins Jr.
John Wesley Wilkins,
Jr., 83, of Cumming, died
Wednesday, November 19,
2008, at Northside Hospital
Lorsyth.
A native of Monroe, he was
the son of the late John Wesley
and Ovella Wilkins.
Mr. Wilkins was the father
of James “Jimmy” W. (Cindy )
Wilkins of Braselton.
Memorial services were
held Friday, November 21,
in the chapel of McDonald
and Son Funeral Home,
Cumming.

Perry
Warbington
Perry Lee Warbington,
56, of Winder, died Sunday,
November 9, 2008, at his resi
dence.
Born in Atlanta on Sept.
7, 1952, he was the son of
William Henry Warbington
and the late Rebecca Lillian
Hart Warbington. He was a
member of White Oak Spring
Missionary Baptist Church of
Winder.
He graduated from Slater
Elementary School and Price
High School in Atlanta. He
excelled in basketball and
baseball, and it was a bas
ketball scholarship that
afforded him the opportunity
to graduate from Lake City
Junior College, Lake City,
Fla., and Georgia Southern
University in Statesboro. He
was drafted into the National
Basketball Association and
became a team member of the
Philadelphia 76ers. He also
had the privilege of playing
on an International Basketball
League Team.
Survivors include his beloved
wife, Betty Berry Warbington,
Bethlehem; siblings, Sylvia
Andrews, Atlanta, Elliott
Henry Warbington, Winder,
Valinda Johnson Brown (Ed),
Atlanta, Beatrice Warbington-
Ross (Alveno), Macon; step
daughter, Angela Gross,
Winder; step-granddaughters,
Constance Martin, Johnnie and
JoAnna Gross, Winder; step
sons, Haven and Demetrius
Brady, Atlanta; nieces, Felicia
Smith, Charlotte Andrews
and Deborah Carter (Ernest);
nephew, Michael Johnson
(Nadji), Atlanta; and a host of
uncles, aunts, cousins, great-
nieces/nephews, godchildren
and friends.

Saturday, November 15, at
White Oak Springs Missionary
Baptist Church with the Rev.
Oscar L. Ross Jr. officiating.

James Everett
James Otis Everett, 81,
of Bethlehem, died Sunday,
November 23, 2008.
Born in Pickens County, he
was the son of the late Greene
and Della Miller Everett. He
was a veteran, having served
during World War II. Mr.
Everett was preceded in death
by a daughter, Teresa Larson.
Survivors include his
wife, Frances Everett, Stone

Everett, both of Bethlehem;
daughters, Angela Lovins,
Stone Mountain, Lisa Everett,
St. Mary’s, and Gina Everett,
Tampa, Fla.; 10 grandchildren;

Katie Banks, both of Winder.
Funeral services were held
Wednesday, November 26, at
Smith Memory Chapel with
the Rev. Butch Dunahoo offi
ciating. Burial was in Barrow
Memorial Gardens.

Bernice Mooney
Bernice Martin Mooney,
78, of Lilbum, died Monday,
November 24, 2008, at
Embracing Hospice in
Snellville, following an
extended illness.
Born in Forsyth County,
she was the daughter of the
late Henry V. and Roxie Jones
Martin.
Mrs. Mooney was the
step-grandmother of Melissa
Williams of Winder.
Funeral services were held
Wednesday, November 26,
in the chapel of Memorial
Park Funeral Home with the
Rev. Ruell Martin officiating.
Burial was in Memorial Park
Cemetery.

Minnie Phillips
Minnie Phillips, 89, of
Statham, died Thursday,
November 13, 2008.
She was born on March
5, 1919, in Alexander City,
Ala., the daughter of the late
Mannie and Bertha Harris and
was Baptist. She was preced
ed in death by her husband
of over 50 years, McKinley
Phillips Jr.
Survivors include sons, Paul
Harris and Eugene Billups;
18 grandchildren; 13 great
grandchildren; five great-
great-grandchildren; sisters,
Louise Townsend and Mary
Boleware; true and faithful
friend, John Leonard; and a
host of nieces, nephews and
cousins.
Funeral services were held
Monday, November 17, at
Faith Baptist Church. Burial
was in Maple Grove Cemetery
in Alabama.

The Bethlehem Post Office
will host a food drive this year
to help area families.

Billy’ Clark
William Thomas “Billy”
Clark, 60, of Hoschton, died
Wednesday, November 19,
2008.
He was born in Hall County,
the son of Beulah Martin
Clark of Hoschton and the
late Marshall Clark. He was
owner of Clark Poultry House
Insulation and was a mem
ber of the Hoschton Baptist
Church. Mr. Clark was pre
ceded in death by a son, Jeff
Clark; and brother, David
Clark.
Survivors in addition to
his mother, include his wife,
Sybil Clark, Hoschton; son
and daughter-in-law, Tim
and Penny Clark, Hoschton;
daughter, Klanci Grissom,
Hoschton; grandchildren,
Savanna Hardy, Lola Clark
and Rylie Grissom, all of
Hoschton; brother, Jimmy
Clark, Flowery Branch;
sisters, Sandra Braselton,
Lawrenceville, and Pam
Duck, Braselton; and a host
of nieces and nephews.

Belle Tomlin
Belle Tomlin, 99, of Winder,
died Friday, November 21,
2008.
Born in Butts County, she
was the daughter of the late
William and Lucy Ardelia
Nelms Strickland. She was
Baptist and a homemaker.
Mrs. Tomlin was preceded
in death by her husband,
William Tomlin; a son, Alton
Kitchens; and a daughter,
Sybil K. Wright.
Survivors include five
grandchildren, Tommy
Wright, Kathleen Parten, Gail
Persell, Gary Kitchens and
Teresa Fountain; five great
grandchildren and six great-
great-grandchildren; and a sis
ter, Bernice Hudson, Jersey.

ating. Burial was in Barrow

Fannie Greenway Wilson,
93, of Winder, died Monday,
November 24, 2008.
Born in Jasper County,
she was the daughter of the
late James B. and Genie L.
Bohannon. She was retired
from Winder Hospital after
31 years and was preceded in
death by John Greenway and
Forrest Wilson.
Survivors include daughters
and sons-in-law, Nina and Carl
Maxey, Watkinsville, Jane and
Robert Krebs, Statham; step
daughters, Sylvia Henry and
Lynn Greenway, Gainesville;
step-sons, Carl H Greenway,
Fayetteville, Ronnie and
Kevin Wilson, Gainesville,
and Eddie Wilson, Florida; 11
grandchildren; and 10 great
grandchildren.

Jackie Johnson
Jackie Johnson, 56, of
Winder, died Saturday,
November 22, 2008.
Born in Clarke County, she
was the daughter of the late
Loyd and Pauline Pursley
Culver.
She had resided in Barrow
County for most of her life
and was a nursing assistant
at Winder Health Care and
Rehab. She was a member of
the Hoschton Church of God
of Prophecy.
Survivors include her hus
band, Larrell Johnson; a son,
Dwayne Johnson; daughters
and sons-in-law, Cindy and
Larry Pourron, Amanda and
Stan Martin, all of Winder;
six grandchildren; brother,
Dave Culver, Winder; sis
ters, Margaret Sweat, Winder,
Rose Culver and Mary Carter,
both of Arcade, Hazel Puckett,
Auburn, and Grace Durham,
South Carolina.
Funeral services were held
Tuesday, November 25, in
the chapel of Carter Funeral
Home with the Rev. Jerry
Gaddis officiating. Burial was
in Bethabra Baptist Church
Cemetery.
