Winder police arrest five for DUI
Winder police from Dec.
8-14 arrested five people for
driving under the influence of
alcohol or drugs.
Those arrested and their
alleged offenses were:
•Charles Richard Lemons,
312 2nd Ave., Winder, DUI,
first offense and stop-sign vio
lation.
•Willie D. Peters Jr., 705
Morgans Ridge Dr., Monroe,
DUI, first offense and failure
to maintain lane.
•Andre Julius Sample, 44,
122-B Quail Valley Road,
Auburn, DUI, possession
of cocaine, misdemeanor
obstruction of an officer, driv
ing while license is suspend
ed, failure to obey a traffic
control device, turning sig
nals required and fleeing or
attempting to elude a police
officer.
•Benjamin Scott Jr., 242
Christy Lane, Auburn, DUI,
first offense and failure to
maintain lane.
•Terry Russell Sims, 3614
Hwy. 332, Hoschton, DUI,
first offense, failure to main
tain lane and headlights not
in use.
Winder police also arrested
13 other people during the

Auburn police report two arrests last week
The Auburn Police
Department arrested two
people for the following
offenses last week:
•Sergio Flores-Juarez, 28
of Athens, a bench warrant
issued in Auburn Municipal
Court.
•Kee Vang, 20, no address,
operating a vehicle with a
suspended license and no
insurance.
Auburn police are also
investigating the alleged
theft of $4,300 worth of
guns, knives and ammunition
from a residence on Atlanta
Highway.
The residents of the home
said the items were stolen
from a gun case in the den.
The stolen items included:
•a single-shot Fulton Arms
firearm with “HT” carved in
the stock;
•a 12-gauge Savage pump-
action firearm; a 12-gauge
Italian or Spanish made fire
arm;
•a 32-round clip manufac
tured by Ruger;
•a Pennington 870 Express
firearm with a leather sling
and a shoulder patch with a
checkerboard weave;
•a black, swab-nose revolv
er;
•a Derringer 45 and/or 410
shell made in Ducktown,
Tenn.;
•pocket, hunting and fold
ing knives.

Barrow County Sheriff's
deputies from Dec. 8-14
arrested eight people for
alleged burglaries and thefts.
They included:
•Jessica Dean Allen, 24, of
859 Hwy. 82, Jefferson, who
was charged with theft by
shoplifting.
•Ann Gibson Baughcum,
22, of 316 Carter Road,
Auburn, theft by taking, pos
session of oxycodone, and
violation of probation.
•Nicholas Paul Forner,
28, of 836 Hwy. 211 N.E.,
Winder, criminal damage to
property and burglary.
•Steven Lee Harry, 33, of

theft by taking a motor vehi
cle.
•Chastan Vanear Nelson,
