BY SUSAN NORMAN The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has posted on its website a photograph of a model of the face of the man found dead Nov. 16 off Atlanta Highway in Barrow County. The likeness is based on the bones and other remains. It is of a Hispanic man who appears to be young, though information posted with the photograph states the victim could have been born anytime between 1968 and 1988. The posting also confirms for the first time that the body was badly burned. Jim Fullington, special agent in charge of the GBI’S District 11 office in Athens said in a recent inter view that a forensic anthropolo gist’s study of the bones narrowed down the time of death to “two to four days” before the body was found. The body was discovered by two people walking through woods behind a vacant house at 998 Atlanta Hwy. Anyone who believes they recognize the person in the GBI photograph is asked to call the agency’s Athens office at 706-542-7901. Police investigating death of 11-day-old Winder infant BY SUSAN NORMAN An 11-day-old Winder infant died Dec. 19 while in the care of a babysitter, family members and friends. The death was discovered after the parents returned home and found the baby “cold and unresponsive,” according to a Winder Police Department press release. Police went to the home at about 4 p.m. Capt. Dennis Dorsey said in an interview Monday that the parents had legitimate reasons for being away from home. He did not release the names of the parents or the address where the infant died. The infant’s body was sent to the GBI Crime Lab for an autopsy to determine the cause of death. Dorsey said Deputy Coroner Robby Black told him that an autopsy is standard policy when an infant dies. Read then recycle this paper Skillful & caring dog groomer giving individual attention.
