The teams in our region are just very good. If we were still in AAA, I think we would have a chance at making some noise.” The AHS girls were set for a tall order Monday in their next tournament game against Class AAAAA foe Stephenson High School, the No. 2-ranked team in the state. “I want the girls to realize we are getting better,” Parks said. “That’s why I am glad to see us adding to our win total.” One player who continues to shine for the Lady Wildcats has been freshman LaCresha Mayweahter, the coach said. “She really looked good on the floor Saturday,” Parks said. “For a freshman to con tinue to play like she has will make others around her better. The other players want to do as well as she does. She is not intimidated by being on the varsity level.” Following play in the Oconee County tournament, the Apalachee teams will trav el to Habersham Central for the opening subregion game of the 2008-09 season at 4 p.m. The Secret of Success Is To Look Cool And Calm On The Surface And To Be Paddling Like Heck Underneath!
