Johnson, 84, died Friday,
October 21, 2011 at her
residence following a peri
od of declining health.
She was born in Conyers
on November 16, 1926
the daughter of the late
Roscoe and Mary Lucile
Reagin. She was a ware
house worker and was
of the Baptist denomina
tion. Mrs. Johnson was
preceded in death by her
husband, Homer David
Johnson.
Survivors include a
son, Jon Phillip Johnson;
son and daughter-in-
law, David and Darlene
Johnson; daughters and
sons-in-law, Paulette and
Lee Epps, Darlene and
Chuck Roache, and Kay
and Lamar Parker; 12
grandchildren; and many
great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was
held Monday, October 24,
at Forest Hill Cemetery in
Forest Park.

Jimmy Jones
STATHAM - Jimmy
Daryl Jones, 63, died
Monday, October 24,
2011 at his residence fol
lowing a long battle with
cancer.
Born in Augusta, he
was the son of Margaret
K. Jones of Acworth and
the late James W. Jones.
He was a retired district
manager from United
Insurance Co. of America.
He was a veteran of the
Vietnam war, where he
earned several medals,
including the National
Defense Service Medal,
the Vietnam Service Medal
with two bronze stars and
the Republic of Vietnam
Campaign Medal. He was
a quarter-
master in the g 1g
United States -
Coast Guard.
Jimmy was a member of
Bearcreek First Baptist
Church.
Survivors in addition
to his mother include his
wife, Nita Jones, Statham;
son, Jason Derrick Jones,
Statham; grandchildren,
Gavin, Grant, Trista and
Tayden Jones; and a
brother, Dennis C. Jones,
Acworth.
Funeral services were
held Wednesday, October
26, at Smith Memory
Chapel with the Rev.
Johnny Wright officiat
ing. Burial was in Barrow
Memorial Gardens.

ATHENS - Doris
Maddox, 81, died
Thursday, October 20,
2011.
A native of Jefferson,
she was a daughter of
the late Clifford T. and
Viola Whitlock Nabers.
She was a graduate of
Athens Business School
and retired from Georgia
Power after 30 years. Mrs.
Maddox was a member
of the women of Georgia
Power and the Athens
Garden Club for many
years and was a longtime
member of Prince Avenue
Baptist Church.
Survivors include her
husband, Duel Maddox;
son, Jeffrey W. Maddox,
Athens; and his children,
John T. “Bo” Maddox,
23 years old, and Mamie
C. Maddox, 21 years old;
daughter, Jan Maddox
Kirby and her husband,
Chip Kirby, Woodbridge,
Va. and their children,
Taylor Kirby, 15 years old
and Trey Kirby, 10 years
old.
Funeral services were
held Sunday, October
23, from the chapel of
Lord & Stephens, WEST.
Interment was in Evergreen
Memorial Park.

she had lived for 56
years before moving to
Flowery Branch 23 years
ago. She was member
of Cornerstone Assembly
of God. Mrs. McDonald
was preceded in death by
her parents, Harvey and
Iva Mae Thompson; and
daughter, Brenda “Totsie”
Patterson-Clay.
Survivors include
grandsons and their
wives, Grant and Suzanne
Tillman and Robbie
and Dawn Stys; great
grandchildren, Chelsey,
Meghan, Grayson, Jack
and Allison; a great-great-
grandchild Aiden; and

Joyce Sims Morris.

Arlie Zebulon ”Zeb”
Nix, 31, died Sunday,
October 23, 2011.
He was the son of Arleen
Klungle and husband Jim
of Monroe and the late
Freddie Nix. He loved
coaching his son in base
ball. He loved old trucks,
and believed if it wasn’t
fast, fun and dirty, he
didn’t like it. He worked
for Pittman Construction
Company.
Survivors in addition
to his mother include his
wife, Alissa Nix; son,
Mason Nix, stepson,
Caleb Hunter; daugh
ters, Jadyn Nix, Bailey
Nix; brother, Eddie Nix,

Larry J. Parker, 68, died
Wednesday, October 19,
2011 following a brief
illness.
He lived most of his life
in Flowery Branch and
was a graduate of Johnson
High School. He was the
son of the late Andrew J.
and Flonnie Parker and
was the owner of L&K
Marine for 10 years. He
worked as a Customer
Service Rep for several
of the auto dealerships in
the area for many years.
Larry loved to deep-sea
fish and deer hunt. Mr.
Parker was preceded in
death by four brothers,
Hoyt, Frank, Winford and
Gladyston Parker; and a
sister, Lucille Gurley.
Survivors include his
wife of 28 years, Kathy
Parker; sons, Todd Parker,
Lula, and Tony Parker,
Flowery Branch; daughter
and son-in-law, Lee and
Danny Flanagan, Flowery
Branch; daughters. Robyn
Welch and Pam Bryant,
both of Commerce; sister,
Ruth Swancey, Flowery
Branch; eight grandchil

and Jimmy Timms. She
was a member of Mulberry
Baptist Church, was a
retired farmer, and was a
retiree of Georgia Shoe of
Flowery Branch.
