Girlfriend hides from police in locked bedroom, boyfriend arrested for obstruction
A 25-year-old Barrow
County man wound up in
the Barrow County jail on
an obstruction charge after
authorities came to his home
to execute a search warrant
on his 24-year-old girlfriend.
According to an incident
report, a Winder police officer
went to the man’s Monroe
Highway residence in order to
serve a warrant on the female.
When he arrived, he met
with the boyfriend who said
she had returned to Braselton
where she lived. He then gave
the officer directions to a loca
tion in Braselton.
The officer told the boy
friend that if he was lying
and if the woman was in the
residence, he could be charged
with obstruction.
Still, the man said that she
was not there. The officer
asked for consent to search
the residence. At that time, the
man’s mother came out of the
residence. The officer asked
her if the woman was in the
house and she said she had just
woken up and didn’t know.
When the officer asked the
man’s mother for consent to
search the home, the woman
said she needed to ask her
husband.
At that time, the boyfriend
confessed that his girlfriend
was in his bedroom with the
door locked.
Both were arrested and taken
to the Barrow County Jail.
