AUBURN POLICE
Woman reports theft of $6,500 in bogus car deal
A Lawrenceville woman came into
the Auburn Police Department last week
to report a theft of $6,500 in a deal that
she made with an employee at a car
dealership that is no longer in business.
The woman said she went to the Omega
Auto Group that was previously located
at 130 Auburn Park drive to buy a car.
She said she spoke with the operator of
the business and told him that she was
in the market for a B.M.W. The operator
reportedly told the woman that he could
find her a vehicle at the auto auction, but
she would need to pay for the vehicle up
front. The woman paid $6,500 and there
was reportedly no time limit discussed
between the two parties on how long it
would take. The woman told an officer
she just assumed that the operator would
get her a vehicle as soon as possible and
she also reportedly began a text messag
ing relationship with him after she paid
him for a two-three month period. The
woman said she believes the man took
her money with no intent to find her a
vehicle. According to an incident report,
the woman intends to prosecute the case.
Unruly teen gets arrested
after waking up mad
An officer was dispatched to a Summit
Ridge residence in response to an
unruly juvenile. The complainant was
the 15-year-old male’s father, who told
police that he went to wake up his son
that morning and the son became incred
ibly unruly and disrespectful and began
yelling at him. The father said he picked
his son up out of bed and told him to get
ready for school. The arguing continued
and the son reportedly came downstairs
and charged at his stepmother. The father
then tackled the teen to the ground and
held him there until police arrived. When
the officer arrived at the residence, the
juvenile was reportedly lying on the floor
breathing hard and was visibly angry.
The father said that he was tired of his
son acting in that manner and it needed to
stop. The teen was arrested and charged
with misdemeanor unruly juvenile.
Woman gave a false name,
social security number
A Carter Road, Auburn woman was
arrested after an officer responded to her
residence regarding a verbal dispute. The
woman reportedly approached the officer
when she arrived and explained that her
daughter got upset and called the police.
The officer asked the woman for identifi
cation to which she replied she had none.
When the officer asked her for her name,
the woman provided a name, birthdate
and social security number and further
told the officer that she had never been
arrested. Dispatch informed the officer
that the woman gave an invalid social
security number and a false name. The
woman had a valise and confirmed war
rant for her arrest. Asked why she lied to
her, the woman told the officer that she
was not paying any attention when she
replied. The woman was arrested and
taken to the Gwinnett County jail.
Big brother gets arrested
after fleeing from police
Officers were dispatched to a
Saddlecreek Court residence in refer
ence to a physical dispute between sib
lings. Apparently, there were six siblings
in total at the residence. A 17-year-old
female and 19-year-old male sibling got
into an argument over the female’s boy
friend. The male became angry and start
ed to yell at her. When she began arguing
back, the male pushed her in the chest
area against a wall. The male then began
an argument with his other 16-year-old
sister, who told police she was scared
he was going to hit her. The oldest
brother reportedly broke a china cabi
net, punched a hole in a wall and threw
a chair across the room. When officers
arrived, they identified all the individuals
inside the house and were told that the
oldest brother ran out of the back door
when he heard police cars coming down
the street. While an officer and a K-9 unit
went in search of him, another officer
ascertained what the dispute was about
due to witness statements. Two officers
located the oldest brother coming from
another residence. They kept him in a
patrol car until their mother came home.
The mother said she did not want to press
charges for the damage done to the china
cabinet or the living room walls. The
sisters also did not want to press charges
against their brother. Officers did charge
the oldest brother with a misdemeanor a
city citation charge of obstruction against
law enforcement. His mother reportedly
agreed that a night in jail might help the
teen realize some things. He was taken to
the Gwinnett County jail.
Bicycle found on Harmony
Grove Church Road
An officer responded to a Harmony Grove
Church Road residence after a woman said
she found a children’s green 18” BMX
Secret Force Series bicycle on her property.
The woman said she has never seen the bicy
cle before and she was not familiar with any
children in the area that had such a bicycle.
The officer took possession of the bicycle
and returned to the police department to be
secured until the owner came forward.
