Born on July 12, 2012 in
Athens, she was the daugh
ter of Bradley “Brad” Wayne
Crider and DeDe Gunn Crider.
Survivors include two sis
ters, Kadence Crider and
Braelee Crider; paternal
grandparents, Wayne and
Debbie Crider, Royston;
maternal grandfather, Samuel
Gunn, Carnesville; great
grandmother, Lula Crider,
Royston. Anneka was pre
ceded in death by her mater
nal grandmother, Glenda
Clardy Gunn.

held Sunday, July 22, 2012 at
3 p.m. at Grove Level Baptist
Church in Maysville, with the
Rev. Jeff Appling officiating.
In accordance with her fami
ly’s wishes, Anneka Faith will
be cremated. The family is at
the home.

Blalock Gunter, 86, passed
away Sunday, July 15, 2012
at the Landmark Hospital in
Athens.
Born in Jackson County, she
was the daughter of the late
Grover and Thelma Waters
Blalock and was the widow
of Ernest H. Gunter after hav
ing been married for some 61
years. She was also preceded
in death by a daughter, Vicky
Brown.
Among the many titles and
duties, her greatest pursuit
was in serving her Lord and
Saviour. She was loved and
cherished by all who knew
her. Her loss will be carried
from now until we are reunit
ed once more in that place
prepared for all that love the
Father, Son and Holy Spirit-
eternal in the Heavens.
Survivors include a son and
daughter-in-law, Todd and
Tara Gunter, Commerce; a
sister, Ruth Curry, Auburn;
grandchild, Darina Boleman,
Hartwell; two great-grand
children, Lanae Boleman
and Gevin Boleman; and two
step-grandchildren, Anthony
Drake and Valerie Drake.

Wednesday, July 18, in the
chapel of Ivie Funeral Home
with Mr. Scott Hamilton and
Mr. Leslie Pulley officiating.

1941, the daughter of the late

Lauderdale, Fla. She was a
member of Prince of Peace
Catholic Church and retired
from Broward Community
College, where she was the
Administrative Assistant to
the Dean.
Survivors include her hus
band, John Hellgeth, Flowery
Branch.
Funeral services were held
Tuesday, July 17, at Prince
of Peace Catholic Church.
Interment was at Memorial
Park South Cemetery. Father
Eric Hill officiated.

Mrs. Hill was born in
Commerce, the daughter
of the late, R.J. and Cleo
Elizabeth Nicholson Wood.
She was a member of Homer
United Methodist Church and
was a retired bookkeeper for
Rich’s. Mrs. Hill was preced
ed in death by her husband,
Charles O. Hill; son, Lee
Hill; brothers, Robert, James,
Tommy and Alvin Wood.
Survivors include her
grandchildren, Brandon,
Taylor, Lauren, and Caitlin
Hill; great-grandson. Tucker
Lee Hill; sisters, Judy Prickett
and Edna Brown, both of

Hoschton, and Betty Taylor,

Joseph Hix, 63, husband of
Sharon Dyer Hix, died Friday,
July 13, 2012.
A native of Athens and
lifelong resident of Madison
County, he was the son of
the late Vincent Joseph and
Mary Ellen Wilkes Hix. Mr.
Hix was a self-employed
electrician and contractor, a
graduate of Athens Tech and
attended the University of
Georgia. He was a member
of Gordon’s Chapel United
Methodist Church. Mr. Hix
was preceded in death by a
sister, Elena Edgmon.
Survivors in addition to
his wife include sons, Bryce
(Katie) Hix and Steven Hix,
all of Athens; sister, Karen
(Bob) Harrison, Hull; broth
ers, Ken (Laura) Hix, Bogart
and Lynn (Tonya) Hix,

Savannah.
He was the son of the
late Minnie and William
Hoffman. He was a United
States Army Veteran who
served in the Pacific Theater
in World
War II and

avid golfer
and fisher
man. Mr.
Hoffman
was pre
ceded in
death by a
son, Gary
Hoffman.
Survivors include his lov
ing wife of 59 years, Virginia
Williamson Hoffman;
children, Elton Hoffman

and Paula Johnson (Perry);

Edward “Bobby” Loggins,
80, passed
away on

2012.
He was
born in
Athens, the
son of the
late Hope
E. and
Christine
Lyle Loggins. He was a mem
ber of the Galilee Christian
Church, the American Legion,
VFW and the Amateur Radio
Association (Ham Radio). Mr.
Loggins was a veteran of the
United States Air Force, and
was retired from the National
Guard. He was retired from
the Physics Department
at UGA, where he was a
Procurement Specialist, and
he also enjoyed fishing and
camping.
Survivors include sons,
Carl Loggins, Lexington,
Hope Loggins, Dry Pond,
Brad Loggins, Jefferson, and
Jonathan Loggins, Maysville;
a sister, Delores Garrison,
Jefferson; and 11 grandchil
dren.
Funeral services were held

40, died Wednesday, July 10,
2012.
A native of Jackson County
and a lifelong resident of
Madison County, he was the
son of Johnny Edward and
Judy Ramsey Parr. Mr. Parr
was an electrician with EIC
of Athens and was a member
of the IBEW Local #613. Mr.
Parr was also an avid hunter,
fisherman, and loved helping
people.

Walker Reese Parr; brothers,
Shain and Stanley Parr; father
and mother-in-law, James and

the Pinnacle Bank after 42
years and was of the Baptist
denomination.

she was a longtime resident of

returning to Oklahoma in
May 2011.
She worked for Irby-
Seawell/SE Aviation
Underwriters, for more than
25 years.
A courageous and inspiring
woman, Maxine enjoyed fish
ing, baseball, volunteering,
family and friends and she
loved her dogs.
She is preceded in death by
her parents; her husband, Jay
Shoemake; sons, Roy Lynn
and Donald Lynn; sister,
Gerry Pickering; and brother,
Bob Pickering.
She is survived by her
grandchildren, Tammy
Reiss, Sherri Austin, Lora
Spivey and Kathy Kull; sib
lings, Charlene McKinny,
Jane Satterfield, and Tom
Pickering; 14 great-grand
children; four great-great-
grandchildren; and numerous
nieces, nephews and extended
family.

United Methodist Church and

Tolbert was a lifelong sup
porter of 4-H and FFA. He
was also a former member of
the Jackson County Schools
Board of Education.
